Nothing revealed CPU details for the upcoming Nothing Phone 3a series

The series is scheduled to launch next month.

Before the March 4 launch of the Nothing Phone 3a series, the company has shared important details about the upcoming smartphones. Nothing CEO Carl Pei disclosed the devices’ CPU specifications, and the smartphone brand also stated that the upcoming series will receive significant upgrades to its CPU and neural processing unit (NPU), which will enhance its on-device artificial intelligence (AI) processing.

In contrast to the MediaTek Dimensity processors used in the predecessor, the upcoming smartphones will use a Snapdragon chipset, which will have a 25% faster CPU and a 72% faster NPU than the Phone (2a), according to Nothing CEO Carl Pei, ahead of the debut of the Nothing Phone 3a Series. MediaTek Dimensity processors powered its predecessor, the Nothing Phone 2a series.

Nothing CEO Carl Pei – “I’m happy to announce that we are going back to the Qualcomm Snapdragon series with the Phone (3a). Compared to the Phone (2a) Plus it’s going to have 25% faster CPU, and a 72% faster NPU”.

Before revealing the CPU details the company released a sneak peek at the side panel of the upcoming phone. The Nothing Phone 3a may have an iPhone-like Action Button on the side, which might allow users to access the camera and take a picture or launch an AI assistant. The button’s operation is still unclear. The business previously revealed the glyph interface and camera design in a separate post on the X of its scheduled smartphone. The company hasn’t shared anything yet. The company is likely to introduce the Nothing Phone 3a and Phone 3a Pro.

Previously, a hands on image of the Nothing Phone 3a was leaked showcasing a black design, a hardcover, and a triple rear camera unit orientated horizontally. Compared to the dual back camera module of the Nothing Phone 2a, this is a major change. The protective casing conceals the Glyph design, and the LED flash is positioned above the module. Over the next few weeks, the brand is anticipated to provide fresh teasers on the product debut.

The Pro edition of the phone is likely to have 12GB RAM and 256GB storage, while the vanilla model offers 8GB RAM with 128GB storage and 12GB RAM with 256GB storage. It features a Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 SoC, a 6.8-inch 120Hz full-HD+ AMOLED screen, and a 5,000mAh battery.
