Now Bar, Personal Data Engine and more features are coming to Galaxy Phones with the One UI 7 update

The company has teased some more capabilities before the launch of the next Galaxy devices.

Samsung has revealed some of the features that One UI 7, their operating system based on Android 15, would have. Earlier this month, the beta version was made available in Germany, India, and a few other places. Now Bar, a new notification system included in the upgrade, improves personalisation by giving users immediate access to everyday actions. AI-powered summarization and privacy-focused cross-app personal data protection are also included in the upgrade.

At SDC 2024 in October, Samsung unveiled One UI 7, an operating system (OS) based on Android 15. Earlier this month, its beta was made available in Germany, India, and a few additional countries. The business has now teased at additional capabilities including AI Summary. In order to protect data across apps, it has also launched a Personal Data Engine. The update’s new notification system, Now Bar, is one of its features. It is claimed to improve customisation by providing easy access to the most frequently used and common tasks on the screen.

For their forthcoming Galaxy S series smartphones, Samsung is launching the Personal Data Engine, a privacy feature that offers consumers cross-app and on-device protection, resulting in increased personalisation and peace of mind. Personalised data is securely stored by Knox Vault, which also protects sensitive data on phones, such as fingerprints. Post-quantum encryption adds an extra degree of security by future-proofing data security against risks posed by quantum computing.

With the Now Bar in One UI 7 defining the experience, Galaxy provides a variety of customised mobile experiences. By integrating routine tasks and applications into the lock screen, this feature enables users to manage their entertainment, plan their workouts, get directions, and converse in many languages. The Galaxy smartphones’ user experience is improved by this privacy-focused strategy.
