Oppo Reno 15 series India launch date announced; camera details revealed

We have also revealed the smartphone availability details ahead of the launch.

Oppo has said that the Reno 15 series will soon be available in India. The series contains three models: the Oppo Reno 15, the Oppo Reno 15 Pro 5G, and the Oppo Reno 15 Pro Mini 5G. The Reno 15 Pro variants are rumoured to include a 200-megapixel primary camera, and all models will have powerful AI-powered imaging technologies that improve portrait photography and video recording. You can buy the series on sites like Flipkart, Amazon, and the Oppo e-store.

The Reno 15 Series from OPPO India will be out on January 8, 2026. It will include an advanced AI camera experience that’s perfect for travellers and photographers. There will be three versions in the series: the Reno 15 5G, the Reno 15 Pro 5G, and the Reno 15 Pro Mini 5G.

With better camera hardware, the new series will focus on portrait photography. The company confirmed that both the OPPO Reno15 Pro 5G and the OPPO Reno15 Pro Mini 5G include a 200-megapixel primary back camera, a 50-megapixel 3.5x telephoto portrait camera with optical zoom, and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera with a 100-degree field of view.

The company says that the 50MP 3.5× Telephoto Portrait Camera is quite similar to the classic 85mm focal length. This lens makes crisp, well-defined portraits by keeping the focus on facial expressions and controlling background compression well. It has a true 3.5× optical zoom, which makes it ideal for both close-up and distant portraiture, making sure that the images are clear and not distorted.

The 50MP Ultra-Wide Camera has a 100° field of view, which lets users take pictures of expansive scenes with consistent colour, exposure, and detail. OPPO’s Golden Ultra-Wide Portrait Perspective shows facial proportions in a natural way, making it ideal for group selfies and wide landscapes. The Ultra-Clear Group Photo function improves group selfies by processing each face separately. This makes sure that the lighting and sharpness are uniform, no matter how deep the frame is.

The upcoming series will feature a portrait shot that emphasises a clean and vibrant style using PureTone Technology, which takes environmental factors into account to avoid excessive subject isolation. It balances light, detail, and texture without oversmoothing, resulting in polished yet realistic portraiture. According to the manufacturer, the camera excellently handles Indian skin tones across a wide range of complexions and lighting circumstances, guaranteeing consistent quality indoors as well as outdoors.

The Reno 15 Series has AI Editor 3.0, which improves OPPO’s AI creative tools with features including AI Portrait Glow for efficient lighting adjustments under varied settings. The AI Motion Photo Slow-Mo tool enhances captured motion photos, while the Popout function enables dramatic photo compositions. The series enables 4K HDR video recording at 60 fps on all cameras, providing creative freedom while maintaining a constant frame rate and dynamic range. The Dual Conversion Gain technology improves low-light clarity and maintains consistent skin tones. Enhanced Ultra-Steady Video decreases tremors while filming, and Dual-View Video and Multi-Output Capture allow for simultaneous front and back recording. The OPPO Reno15 5G expands access to these functionalities with a powerful camera configuration optimised for daily shooting.
