Qualcomm is utilising Snapdragon technology to drive the future of spatial computing in India with the introduction of ‘Snapdragon for India – XR Day’. Additionally, Qualcomm announced that it has partnered with Lenskart, and their upcoming smart glasses in India will be powered by Snapdragon chipsets.
In an effort to propel the growth of spatial computing in India, Qualcomm Technologies unveiled its Snapdragon for India- XR Day. Highlighting Qualcomm Technologies’ pivotal role in pushing India’s smart glasses and extended reality, the event, which was attended by leading technology experts, developers, industry partners, and media representatives, featured state-of-the-art innovations in entertainment, content capture, fitness, and education.
Qualcomm Technologies and Lenskart are collaborating to create smart glasses using Snapdragon chipsets in an effort to offer Indian consumers cutting-edge AI-enabled eyewear options.

The event takes place in advance of the next Snapdragon Auto Day, which will be co-hosted with Amazon Web Services (AWS) on July 30 and will highlight how automotive technologies like ADAS and in-car networking are influencing smart mobility.
During the event, Qualcomm Technologies’ Alex Katouzian emphasised the Snapdragon XR platforms, which have powered over 100 immersive devices worldwide, as key in a new age of next-generation computing. According to him, these platforms provide best-in-class experiences in mixed reality, virtual reality, and augmented reality, allowing for personalised and intuitive experiences. Katouzian emphasised the importance of AI in XR development, as it allows it to see and hear what users see and hear, resulting in more personalised experiences. He highlighted the Snapdragon platforms’ adaptability in running AI across cloud, local, and on-device applications.

Qualcomm India’s Sr. Vice President & President, Savi Soin, has stated that the firm envisions smart glasses being just as common as smartphones, delivering a blend of appealing looks and robust performance. This initiative ushers in a new age of spatial computing, firmly establishing India in the global immersive technology ecosystem. The technology will empower front-line workers, change distant education, and provide universal digital access.
