Redmi 7A India launch scheduled for 12 pm IST today: How to watch the live stream

Chinese smartphone Xiaomi is all set for its Redmi 7A launch in India today. The device was launched in China around two months back and it is now finally being launched in India too. It is the watered-down variant of the Redmi 7 smartphone. The key features of the handset are its 5.45-inch screen, Snapdragon 439 SoC and its 4,000mAh battery. It succeeds the Redmi 6A and comes with a 12MP Sony IMX486 rear sensor. The China variant of the smartphone comes with a 13MP camera instead.

Xiaomi India MD Manu Kumar Jain also tweeted about the Redmi 7A launch a few days back saying that a special feature announcement will also happen at the event. Here’s everything that you should know about the Redmi 7A launch in India:

Redmi 7A launch live stream details

Xiaomi will be holding the Redmi 7A launch in India at 12 pm (noon) IST. The event will be live streamed on YouTube so you can head there to watch it. We have also embedded it on this page, so you can also watch the Redmi 7A launch here.

Redmi 7A price

In China, Redmi 7A is available in two storage variants – 2GB RAM/16GB storage and 2GB RAM/32GB storage – that are priced at CNY 549 (approximately Rs 5,500) and CNY 599 (approximately Rs 6,000) respectively. The India pricing of the handset will be announced today at the Redmi 7A launch event and it is expected to cost similarly to the variant that has been launched in China. The device will be available on Flipkart and Mi.com.

Redmi 7A specifications

The Redmi 7A has support for dual SIM cards and it runs Android 9.0 Pie skinned with MIUI 10. The handset sports a 5.45-inch HD (720×1440 pixels) display that has an aspect ratio of 18:9. Powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 SoC, it comes with 2GB of RAM and is available in 16GB and 32GB storage variants. For more storage users can install a microSD card in the smartphone.

On the imaging front, the handset features a 12MP features a 12MP Sony IMX486 sensor coupled with an LED flash. This is something that is different from the Chinese variant of the device that came with a 13MP sensor. For selfies and video calls, there is a 5MP front-facing snapper that has support for AI Facial Unlock.

The smartphone houses a 4,000mAh battery and for connectivity, it has options like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS/ A-GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, and, a Micro-USB port. The handset also has P2i splash-resistant coating.
