Redmi Note 15, Redmi 15, and Redmi 15C prices increased due to a rise in component costs

The previously launched phones have also received a price hike.

Redmi has announced a price rise for three of its smartphones in India: the Redmi Note 15, Redmi 15, and Redmi 15C. This decision is related to growing component prices, which are influencing the whole smartphone market. Specifically, the price increase for some devices might be as much as Rs 4,000, as shown on the Redmi India website. Notably, the Redmi Note 15 was introduced in January this year, demonstrating that even newly released models are also affected by price increases.

The Redmi Note 15’s 8+128GB model was introduced at Rs 22,999 and is now priced at Rs 24,999, while the 8+256GB variant has been hiked from Rs 24,999 to Rs 27,999. The Redmi 15 has many variants: the 6GB + 128GB model was introduced at Rs 14,999 and is now Rs 18,499; the 8GB + 128GB variant was launched at Rs 15,999 and is now Rs 20,499; and the 8GB + 256GB variant went from Rs 16,999 to Rs 22,499. Finally, the Redmi 15C comes in three variants: the 4GB + 128GB option, which was introduced at Rs 12,499 and is now Rs 15,499; the 6GB + 128GB variant, which was released at Rs 13,999 and is now Rs 17,499; and the 8GB + 128GB variant, which was priced at Rs 15,499 but is now Rs 19,499.

The smartphone has a big 6.77-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1,080 x 2,392 pixels. The screen is vivid and smooth, thanks to its 120 Hz refresh rate. The Redmi 15 5G comes loaded with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 processor (2x Cortex A78@2.3GHz and 6x Cortex A55@1.95GHz) with up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM (expandable up to 16GB RAM with up to 8GB Virtual) and 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage. It operates on HyperOS2 with Android 15 out of the box and includes intuitive features such as Circle to Search, AI Erase, AI Sky, and Gemini Live. The company promises to provide 2 years of OS and 4 years of security updates.

The 5G smartphone features a 6.9-inch FHD+ display with 2340×1080 pixels of resolution. It is a TÜV Rheinland display with upto 144Hz Adaptive refresh rate support and upto 288Hz touch sampling rate. The phone has a peak brightness of 850 nits.

It is backed by a massive 7,000mAh battery with 33W wired and an 18W reverse charging support.

In terms of optics, Redmi 15 5G has a dual rear camera setup that includes a 50-megapixel main camera with f/1.75 large aperture. There is an 8-megapixel front-facing camera for taking selfies and video calling.

Redmi 15C 5G Specifications, Features

The Redmi 15C is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 5G chipset and available in a variety of configurations, including 4GB, 6GB, and 8GB of RAM, all with 128GB of internal storage. Memory Extension technology also allows you to increase memory capacity to 16GB. It supports LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.2 storage for faster data transfers, which improves multitasking and app responsiveness. The operating system, which is backed by HyperOS 2 with Android 15, offers two years of operating system upgrades and an additional four years of security updates.

The smartphone is also IP64 certified, which provides dust and splash resistance and increases its longevity for both indoor and outdoor use. The device has a large 6.9-inch HD display with a resolution of 1600×720, a 120Hz Adaptive Sync refresh rate, and a 240Hz touch sampling rate, which contributes to its responsiveness. The display can achieve peak brightness levels of 810 nits.  Furthermore, the gadget has TÜV Rheinland certifications for reduced blue light emission, flicker-free performance, and circadian-friendly operation, supporting better viewing habits.
