Samsung plans to hold its Galaxy Unpacked event in San Francisco toward the end of February 2026, which is much later than previously anticipated. The portfolio is rumoured to contain three models: Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+, and Galaxy S26 Ultra. Though the company has yet to confirm the specs for these gadgets, significant data have just leaked, offering insight into the functionality that may be available. Notably, the Galaxy S26 Ultra is expected to include the S-Pen, expanding its uses for customers. This event is a key part of Samsung’s continuous hardware launch strategy, as they offer their most recent breakthroughs to the market.
According to a South Korean publication, Monday Today, Samsung’s next Galaxy Unpacked event will take place on February 25, 2026 in San Francisco. The IT behemoth is to introduce its new smartphone models: the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+, and Galaxy S26 Ultra. Preparations for the launch event have already begun, demonstrating Samsung’s dedication to this big launch.
A Samsung representative emphasised San Francisco’s status as a burgeoning AI hub, implying that the chosen site is suitable for presenting potentially new AI-powered capabilities during the event. The forthcoming Galaxy Unpacked will be Samsung’s first visit to San Francisco in three years, with the last event taking place in 2023.
Samsung usually hosts its Unpacked presentations in late January or early February; however, this year, the event has been pushed to late February. Analysts attribute the move to a shift in the product lineup. Initially, the company planned to introduce a “Pro” model to replace the base model in the S26 series, as well as a “Edge” model to replace the Plus version. However, given the disappointing performance of the S25 Edge, Samsung decided to keep a three-model range for its forthcoming release, with “Basic, Plus, and Ultra” options.
What to expect?
Samsung Electronics’ forthcoming S26 series smartphone will include the next-generation mobile application processor (AP), known as the Exynos 2600. This development is especially important because it will be the first time in four years, since the S22 series, that the flagship Ultra model will have an Exynos processor. The application processor, sometimes known as the “brain” of the device, is important to smartphone functioning and determines overall product performance. The inclusion of the Exynos 2600 is seen as a significant indication of Samsung’s confidence in its technical breakthroughs and capabilities in the competitive smartphone market.
According to IT expert Jukan, the Exynos 2600 scored impressive benchmark scores of 3,455 points in single-core performance and 11,621 points in multi-core performance on Geekbench, making it the best result recorded among Exynos processors tested thus far. According to IT media source SamMobile, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen5 surpasses the Exynos 2600 in single-core and multi-core testing, scoring 3,832 and 12,170 points, respectively. This illustrates Qualcomm’s persistent edge in performance benchmarks compared to the most recent Exynos model.
