The Sony XAV-AX8500 AV car receiver features a 10.1-inch HD LCD screen with 1280 x 720 pixels of resolution. The panel comes with an optically gapless design which is bonded directly to the protective glass touch layer with a transparent adhesive. The device offers customisable icon positioning and wallpaper. There is an internal anti-glare filter which significantly increases touchscreen visibility. Whereas HDMI connectivity allows you to connect an external audio and visual source device.
The driver could manually change the viewing angles of the large display thanks to the newly built tilt and swivel mechanism. Its screwless design allows for a ±15 degree horizontal and vertical range without the need for tools. This not only allows for altering the angle to the preferred seating position, but also avoids things such as direct sunlight reflection, or even for sharing the navigation screen with your passengers.
Sony’s latest car AV receiver comes with a Wireless Smartphone Conversion feature for in-car connectivity. With the included GPS antenna and a Wi-Fi connection from the user’s smartphone, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto can be connected wirelessly allowing smartphones to be effortlessly integrated with automobile audio systems. This will also enable hands-free calling, music streaming, navigation, and more. Voice commands and simple controls provide drivers with increased safety and convenience.
The Sony XAV-AX8500 comes with an integrated DSP that offers precise processing and time alignment for each of its five addressable channels. Moreover, with a 14-band EQ, users can fine-tune the audio to match their music preferences.

Bluetooth wireless music at 96 kHz/24-bit sampling is now possible, thanks to LDAC, which can offer bitrates up to three times higher than standard Bluetooth. In addition to the regular rear-view camera connectivity, drivers can also view the images of up to three connected cameras with the included trigger wires. These images can be switched on and off, or from one to another automatically by detecting the vehicle’s turn signals or sensing compatible signals such as that from a connected front camera.
