To enhance user experience, Telegram has added new features. These features include the option to gift Telegram Stars to friends and family and a new in-app browser that supports multiple tabs. The platform included compatibility with Microsoft’s AI chatbot, Copilot, one month before this release. Users of the new browser can also add pictures and video demos to mini-app previews, and they may toggle between numerous tabs. On macOS, a few of these features are also being released.
A Mini App Store, a new in-app browser called Web3, and the option of gifting friends Stars are all part of the Telegram update, which is now available to almost a billion users.
Users of Telegram’s browser may now switch between chats and websites, instant view articles, and mini apps by collapsing and reopening pages from the bottom bar. Almost one billion people use this service each month, letting them check their messages and return without losing any progress. Users can also add bookmarks to pages so they can visit them later.
Users can now find new apps or easily access their existing games and services with Telegram’s new ‘Apps’ option in Search. To let customers know what to expect, developers can add screenshots and video demos for mini-app previews under this category. Out of Telegram’s 950 million members, more than 500 million utilise mini apps every month.
Now, mini apps that make use of Telegram Stars can potentially appear in the ‘Popular Apps’ section. This page provides developers with further information about mini-apps.
Now, users can share leaderboard snapshots, achievements, and AI-generated videos as custom story content on Telegram Stories, allowing new app types and facilitating the spread of existing ones among users’ friends.
With Telegram Stars, users may access paid content in channels and buy digital goods in mini apps. Birthday celebrants will be at the top of the list, and in the chat, gifted stars will show up as animated gift boxes.
To gift stars, go to Settings > My Stars (on iOS, you will currently see this menu only if you have previously purchased stars for yourself).
The front flash is now available for video chatting, providing additional lighting for recording in low-light conditions. Tap the microphone icon in the message bar to begin video recording. Then, press and hold the camera icon to record a video message. Swipe up to continue recording, then hit the flash icon in the bottom left corner.
Users may now include an animated weather widget in their stories, which automatically switches between Celsius and Fahrenheit depending on the viewer’s device settings. On cloudless evenings, the widget shows the moon phase. Users can also add music, links, or locations to their stories using the ‘Stickers’ section.
The Telegram update also includes the ability to choose a frame for your profile cover photo when putting out a video story.
Lastly, the new browser on Telegram for macOS offers stunning features such as games, mini-apps, instant view pages, and Web3 sites.
