Upcoming Apple Watch Series 11 and Watch Ultra 3 will get a design upgrade and more sensors: Report

The next generation is anticipated to include a new outer design and maybe double the number of onboard sensors that monitor heart rate, steps, workouts, and other health indicators.

Apple plans to release a significantly redesigned Apple Watch in 2026, with a bigger underneath sensor module and twice as many onboard sensors as the present model. The debut date hasn’t been confirmed by the company. Apple is anticipated to release the Watch Series 11 and iPhone 17 series in September.

According to reports, Apple is developing a new smartwatch model for 2026 that will have twice as many built-in sensors as the existing Apple Watch 10. According to DigiTimes, the 2026 Apple Watch model may include a significant makeover on its outer appearance, twice as many sensors, and more power-efficient architecture. Eight sensors that detect cardiovascular rhythm, heart rate, blood oxygen levels, steps, and menstrual cycles will be visible to the wearer through a bigger glass piece on the underside.

Apple has not yet confirmed when the anticipated smartwatch will be released. Next month, Apple plans to release the iPhone 17 series, the Apple Watch Series 11, and the Watch Ultra 3.

For those who don’t know, the Apple Watch Ultra 2, the company’s flagship model in the Ultra series, was introduced in September 2023. The manufacturer hasn’t released a new colour choice since September 2024.

It’s anticipated that an advanced Apple Watch model, possibly the Watch Ultra series, will have the design and sensor updates. With the help of Global Star’s satellites, users of the purported Apple Watch Ultra 3 would be able to send text messages even in the absence of a cellular network or Wi-Fi. Along with blood pressure monitoring, the 2025 Apple Watch model is reportedly developing a sleep apnoea detector.

However, there are rumours that the iPhone 17 Pro will be $50 more expensive this year, and other models in the lineup are also anticipated to be more costly.

Tipster Instant Digital claimed a $50 price increase for the iPhone 17 Pro, bringing it to about $1,049 in the United States. The iPhone 17 Pro is projected to be released in India at a base price of Rs 1,24,900, up from the current base price of Rs 1,19,900 for the iPhone 16 Pro. According to reports, all iPhone 17 series models may face a $50 price increase owing to US trade conflicts with China and rising component prices. With the debut just a month away, it’s unclear if Apple will boost pricing soon enough.

The iPhone 16 Pro’s 128GB storage model begins at $999 in the United States, presumably indicating an upgrade for consumers. The iPhone 17 Pro will have a basic storage capacity of 256GB, up from the current 128GB model. This is comparable to the Pro Max model, which saw a boost in basic storage capacity with the iPhone 15 Pro Max in 2023. Last year’s iPhone 16 Pro Max also had 256GB of storage.
