Verizon users in the United States experienced phone outages, with some handsets locked in SOS mode for a long time. The company recognised a software issue that impacted certain customers’ cellular service, which was restored later in the day. Customers in the Sacramento area, as well as across California and the United States, were affected by the extensive outages.

Verizon disclosed a software issue that disrupted mobile service for certain users. The business worked feverishly to restore service, which was eventually restored later that day. The organisation is dedicated to delivering the finest service possible and sincerely apologises for any difficulty caused to its clients, who rely on it for work, family, and other connections. Customers may stay up to date by visiting their local Check Network Status site. Verizon apologises for any disruption and appreciates its customers’ patience as they rely on the service.
If you continue to have problems, Verizon recommends restarting your device by turning it off and back on to activate your service immediately.
“We truly value you as our customer, and we appreciate your patience as we worked through this issue. We’re also taking what we’ve learned from this incident to strengthen the overall experience for everyone who relies on Verizon Wireless,” the company said.
According to Downdetector, the most commonly reported Verizon outages occur in Chicago, Atlanta, Los Angeles, Orlando, Tampa, Minneapolis, Miami, Omaha, and Indianapolis.
Verizon suffered a similar disruption in October 2024, which resulted in over 100,000 DownDetector complaints.
