Vivo announced OriginOS 6, release timeline revealed

The release timeline for OriginOS 6 has also been announced.

Vivo has announced the release of the Android 16-based OriginOS 6, which is likely to replace FuntouchOS. The OS, which is based on the Android 16 operating system, is intended to “redefine” human-computer interaction in the age of AI. It incorporates the Origin Smooth Engine, as well as additional motion effects, customisation options, fonts, and AI features.

OriginOS 6 focuses on smoothness. The Origin Smooth Engine offers smooth collaboration across core modules, storage, computation, and display, providing a comprehensive experience. The 8+1 Ultra-Core Computing enhances app cold-start speed and frame-rate stability, Memory Fusion speeds up data loading, and Dual Rendering improves animation performance.

Vivo’s Origin Animation system improves the visual experience by including motion effects such as Spring Animation, Blur Transition, Morphing Animation, and One Shot Animation, which give each touch a natural rhythm and consistency. The Snap-Up Engine optimises computational resources for high-demand operations, guaranteeing smoothness of touch. The newest Vivo X300 Pro with OriginOS 6 has received SGS certification for long-lasting smoothness, simulating five years of intensive use. Users see, feel, and rely on this seamless experience every day. The Snap-Up Engine also provides speedier app launches and a more refined touch response, making every tap and swipe seamless.

OriginOS 6 is a new operating system that aims to make digital life more accessible and pleasant. The Origin Design system integrates visual elements such as shape, colour, icon, image, font, layout, material, and depth. The new brand typeface, vivo Sans2, now supports over 40 languages and has completely changeable weight for the first time. The system also contains Dynamic Glow and Translucent Colour, which provide immersive brilliance. Vivo has redefined app design, allowing users to check device status, manage health, and explore weather in a unique digital format.

OriginOS 6 introduces vivo AI, a new personal intelligence feature developed together with Google. It updates Gemini and Circle in Search, providing a better and more intuitive experience. The new Origin Island provides real-time status at the top of the screen and remains visible when you exit apps. It provides contextual suggestions, such as Copy & Go, which allows users to copy and paste phone numbers or meeting details, and Drag & Go, which lets users stay in suggested apps without switching.
