What is Circle to Search?

The Google-powered Circle to Search feature has launched with the Samsung Galaxy S24 Series. The new tool makes searching results easier with a simple motion. The user will be able to see helpful, high-quality search results by long pressing the home button and circling, highlighting, scribbling, or tapping anything on the Galaxy S24’s screen.

However, the company may have introduced the Circle to Search feature on the Galaxy S24 series, but it will also let Android users search anything on their devices without switching apps. “Now, with a simple gesture, you can select what you’re curious about in whatever way comes naturally to you—like circling, highlighting, scribbling or tapping — and get more information right where you are,” Google Noted in its blog post.

How to use Circle to Search?

For instance, to identify a  few items a creator wore in their “Outfit of the Day” video, just long-press the home button or navigation bar on your Android phone to activate Circle to Search. From there, you can circle or select any item that you see with your preferred gesture—like circling their sunglasses—to quickly find similar, shoppable options from retailers online. You could scribble the bag and tap on the boots to look those up, too—all without leaving where you are. When you’re done, simply swipe away, and you’re right back where you started.

In complex situations, such as browsing social media, you may come across an image of a delicious corn dog with some unique toppings. All you have to do is circle the corn dog and pose a question, such as, “Why are these so popular?”

Similarly, you can also look for something you saw on YouTube Shorts by quickly scribbling over the topic or caption.
