WhatsApp’s ‘multi-account’ feature now available for beta testers

WhatsApp’s beta programme is currently full.

WhatsApp has been regularly rolling out new features on its platform this year. Earlier this week, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced that WhatsApp users will be able to share their device’s screen while on a video call. Now, the Meta-owned instant messenger has introduced a new ‘multi-account’ account on its latest beta version (2.23.17.8).

The new ‘multi-account’ feature on WhatsApp was first reported by WABetainfo. Beta testers with access to the 2.23.17.8 version of the app can add another account by tapping the downward arrow next to the QR code of their profile. Upon tapping the arrow, select Add Account and follow the onscreen instructions to add another number to the WhatsApp app on your device. Users can toggle between their accounts by tapping the downward arrow.

As of now, WhatsApp’s beta testing programme is at full capacity. Those willing to try out this new feature can download WhatsApp’s 2.23.17.8 beta version from a trusted third-party marketplace. Once the app has been sideloaded on your device, you can try out the new multi-account feature. The introduction of this feature will allow users to seamlessly switch between work and personal accounts on WhatsApp. At the moment, most users rely on the Dual Messenger feature to use two WhatsApp accounts on their devices.

WhatsApp has been on a roll when it comes to adding useful updates to the platform. For the longest time, muti-account and multi-device support were some of the most-requested features by WhatsApp users. Back in April, WhatsApp introduced multi-device support, allowing users to access their accounts on multiple phones. More recently, features like video messages and screen sharing were added to the messenger.
