Xiaomi has released the Xiaomi 17 in India, which is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC. The smartphone has a triple Leica back camera arrangement consisting of three 50-megapixel sensors and a 50-megapixel front camera. It runs HyperOS 3, which is based on Android 16. It also incorporates HyperAI capabilities. The Xiaomi 17 comes with a 6,330mAh battery that supports 100W wired and 50W wireless charging. It was revealed with the Xiaomi 17 Ultra, which has Qualcomm’s latest 3nm chipset.

Price in India, Availability

The Xiaomi 17 is available in India beginning at Rs 89,999 for the 12GB + 256GB model and Rs 99,999 for the 12GB + 512GB version. It is available in three colours: black, ice blue, and venture green. Sales will begin on March 18 via Amazon, the Xiaomi India website, and Xiaomi retail shops.

Customers can get a free phone damage protection plan worth Rs 9,999 during the early bird period, which runs from March 13 to March 17. Furthermore, the ‘Never Run Out’ launch offer enables users to acquire the 512GB model at the same price as the 256GB edition.

EMI options start at Rs 9,999 per month for nine months. Purchasers may also benefit from partner deals such as four months of Spotify Premium, three months of Google AI Pro, three months of YouTube Premium, and Jio perks totalling Rs 31,500.

The Xiaomi 17 has a 6.3-inch 1.5K OLED display with a high refresh rate of 120 Hz and a touch sampling rate of up to 300 Hz. This display has a peak brightness of 3,500 nits and supports a 19.6:9 aspect ratio with a DCI-P3 colour gamut for rich colours. The display has been TÜV Rheinland certified to ensure minimal blue light emissions, flicker-free operation, and a viewing experience that is compatible with circadian rhythms, making it appropriate for extended usage.

Furthermore, the Xiaomi 17 supports HDR10+ and Dolby Vision technologies, which improve viewing quality via dynamic range and contrast.

It is powered by a 3nm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 system-on-chip (SoC) that includes an Adreno GPU and a Qualcomm AI Engine. The device supports up to 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM, which allows for heavy multitasking. The smartphone runs Xiaomi HyperOS 3, which is based on Android 16 and contains a set of HyperAI-branded features.

A 3D IceLoop cooling system is used to efficiently regulate heat during heavy workloads, resulting in maintained performance levels.

The camera system includes the following:

  • Features a 50-megapixel primary camera with an f/1.67 aperture and a 23mm focal length.
  • The camera system is also equipped with a 50-megapixel telephoto lens (f/2.0).
  • The device also boasts a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor (f/2.4) that offers a 102-degree field of view.
  • The front-facing camera is a 50-megapixel selfie camera with an f/2.2 aperture and a 90-degree field of view.
