Xiaomi has updated its File Manager, gets a system-wide dark mode to MIUI

The company has launched a system-wide dark mode in MIUI devices.

Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi has rolled out a new software update for its devices. The new update includes a system-wide dark mode in the MIUI 10 software. The company has introduced V1-190621 of Mi’s file explorer. To turn the entire interface into the dark mode, a toggle has been added in the app’s side menu.

The new update was first reported by AndroidPolice that says “V1-190621 of Mi’s file explorer introduces a toggle for the dark mode in the app‘s side menu. Turn it on and the entire interface switches to a very dark grey with white text. The app’s different tabs, settings, file browser, and everything else follow the new theme.”

Apart from this, the new update brings sorting options and the ability to create a folder in the storage tab. Xiaomi has also brought launcher app shortcuts to its Mi File Manager that quickly cleans up the tab, FTB, favorites and search without opening the main app. You can also view storage stats and manage all folders on your device. Xiaomi also claims that with this update, it has fixed the issue that made the icons too big. You can also create folders and sorting items can be done on the storage page itself.

The update is being rolled out for select smartphones as a part of the beta update. The company is still working on the dark mode and it is planning for a wider roll-out of the new update. The rollout brings a number of new improvements and changes to the File Manager app. The dark theme is available for apps like Calculator, Contacts, Gallery, Messaging, Notes, Phone, Screen Recorder, and Updater. Apart from that, the update also covers the themes like volume controls, notification shade, and the Recents window.

In the meantime, the company has already stated that it is working on MIUI 11. If the systemwide dark mode in MIUI does not work, then you are soon going to get MIUI 11 update.

If you have not received the latest systemwide dark mode in MIUI, then can go to the Play Store on your device and update the app. The company also offers Mi Remote, Mi Home, Mi Wallpaper Carousel, Mint Browser, Mi Video, Mi Calculator, Mint Launcher, and Poco Launcher apps in Google Play.
