Just a day before Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked event, Xiaomi has officially unveiled Mi Mix 4 via an online event hosted in China. The device is a successor of Mi Mix 3 and has been part of the rumour mill for some time. The phone is the company’s first offering to come with an under-display camera. Xiaomi is said to have a special technique known as Camera Under Panel (CUP) to conceal the selfie camera under the display.
Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 price and availability
Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 has been launched in China with a starting price of CNY 4,999 that translates to Rs 57,400 for the base 8GB RAM with 128GB storage variant. Whereas the 8GB RAM with 256GB storage option is priced at CNY 5,299 that translates to Rs 60,800, 12GB RAM with 256GB storage option at CNY 5,799 translates to Rs 66,600 and the top variant which is 12GB RAM with 512GB storage model at CNY 6,299 that translates to Rs 72,300. The phone will be available in Ceramic Black, Ceramic White, and Ceramic Grey colour options. The new phone with an under-display camera will be available for purchase from August 16 onward and is available for pre-bookings in China.
Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 specifications
The Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 comes with a 6.67-inch full-HD+ 10bit TrueColor AMOLED display with 1,080×2,400 pixels of resolution. It offers a 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ and Dolby Vision support comes with a 20:9 aspect ratio and a layering of Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection. The device is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 888+ SoC, along with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage.
Mi Mix 4 is highlighted with a triple rear camera setup that includes a 108-megapixel primary HMX sensor with an f/1.95 aperture and OIS. Furthermore, there is a 13-megapixel periscope-shaped telephoto lens with 50x zoom and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide angle lens. Upfront, there is a 20-megapixel camera sensor with CUP technology with 400ppi of pixel density.
In terms of connectivity, there is 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth, GPS/ A-GPS, and a USB Type-C port. In addition to this, the phone houses an in-display fingerprint sensor and Ultra-Wideband (UWB) support for precise spatial positioning capabilities. The device also packs a 4,500mAh battery that comes with 120W wired and 50W wireless charging support.
