Xiaomi has confirmed the Xiaomi Pad 8’s debut in India, which will take place later this month. This tablet, which was first released in China in September 2025, is equipped with a Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 CPU and a large 9,200mAh battery. It is compatible with the Xiaomi Focus Pen Pro pen and the Xiaomi Focus Keyboard, which has illuminated buttons and a gesture-enabled touchpad, making it suitable for a variety of computing tasks. This launch marks its foray into the global market, beginning with India.
Xiaomi plans to introduce the Pad 8 in India and other regions on February 28. The reveal will coincide with the Xiaomi 17 series event, which starts at 2 p.m. in Barcelona (6:30 p.m. IST).
The Xiaomi Pad 8 is expected to use an octa-core Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 CPU, indicating its enhanced performance potential. The gadget will run Android 16 with Xiaomi’s HyperOS 3 overlay, promising a more polished user experience. Furthermore, the tablet has a large 9,200mAh battery, which means that users will be able to use it for longer periods of time. Notably, Xiaomi claims that the Pad 8 is its thinnest tablet to date, emphasising its clean design in a competitive tablet industry.
The Xiaomi Pad 8 is compatible with accessories like the Focus Pen Pro, a buttonless pen that improves user engagement via gesture support. The company has also promised an interesting accessory: a keyboard with LED keys. According to the tablet’s web site, the Xiaomi Focus Keyboard has adaptable backlit buttons and a touchpad that supports a variety of gestures, resulting in a more efficient and usable experience.

The Xiaomi Pad 8 is presently available for purchase in China, with cthe ost varying depending on RAM and storage combos. The usual variants are an 8GB RAM with 128GB storage priced at CNY 2,199 (about Rs 27,500) and an 8GB RAM with 256GB storage priced at CNY 2,699 (roughly Rs 27,700). There is also a high-end variant with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage, which costs CNY 2,799 (about Rs 30,600). The Soft Light Edition has similar features, with the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage starting at CNY 2,699 and the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage at CNY 2,999.
