Sony to refresh PlayStation Plus with 700+ games, will relaunch in June The new subscription service will have a three-tier subscription model. Sony is working on relaunching PlayStation Plus to take on Xbox Game Pass. As per the company, both PlayStation Plus and PlayStation Now will be combined to create three membership tiers available globally namely PlayStation Plus Essential, Extra and Premium. Read on to know more. PlayStation Plus, Sony's gaming subscription service is being refreshed and will be launching in June. According to Sony combining PlayStation Plus and PlayStation Now in an all-new PlayStation Plus subscription service, giving customers more options across three membership tiers around the world. This will provide high-quality, curated content with a diverse portfolio of games and three membership tiers will be offered across the globe. According to the firm, PlayStation Now will be folded into the new PlayStation Plus service when it launches, and it will no longer be available as a standalone service. Customers who are currently subscribed to PlayStation Now will be migrated to PlayStation Plus Premium at no cost to them when the service launches. The entry-level tier PlayStation Plus Essential has the same price as well as benefits as the existing PS Plus subscription. It will include 2 monthly downloadable games, exclusive discounts, cloud storage for saved games and online multiplayer access. Because this is such a large launch, Sony will roll out the new PlayStation Plus service in phases across the country. It will start with an initial launch in several Asian markets in June, followed by North America, Europe, and the rest of the world where PlayStation Plus is available. By the end of the first half of 2022, it hopes to have most PlayStation Network territories up and running with its new PlayStation Plus game subscription service. The company also intends to expand its cloud streaming service to new markets and will provide more information at a later time.
