At the upcoming WWDC 2025 keynote event today, Apple will be announcing the operating system updates that will be available for its devices. A new interface and updated software interfaces for the iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple TV, and Apple Watch are among the design and productivity enhancements for Apple’s operating systems that will be on display at the Developers Conference. Apple will talk about its AI strategy, which includes letting other developers utilise its language models.

At WWDC 2025, a five-day developer conference, Apple is expected to make important software-related announcements today. In India, the WWDC 2025 event will start at 10:30 p.m. IST or 10 a.m. PT. Usually, the WWDC25 event includes announcements for many devices, including the iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, and macOS. The event last year concentrated on AI elements, dubbed Apple Intelligence, which were introduced gradually.

Mark Gurman claims that as part of a complete redesign, Apple will release iOS 26, iPadOS 26, tvOS 26, visionOS 26, macOS 26, and watchOS 26 in 2026. The internal names of the operating systems will be Nepali, Luck, Charisma, Discovery, and Cheer, in that order. The company’s software branding will also shift from version numbers to a year-based scheme as a result of the switch. The year when the new operating systems were released will be the basis for their names.

The firm is likely to launch its venerable Preview app for iPadOS and iOS for the first time on macOS.

A new interface called Solarium, built on visionOS, will be unveiled by Apple for all of its operating systems, including CarPlay. With the introduction of iPad improvements for office work and the potential for third-party developers to utilise its extensive language models, Apple is expected to introduce its Apple Intelligence AI plan.

It is anticipated that Apple will launch new AI capabilities, such as an enhanced Shortcuts app, a system-wide push into translation, and the availability of its foundation models. A new version of Xcode that uses third-party Language Models (LLMs) for code completion is also being developed by the business.

The tech giant Google claims that Chrome has scored the highest on the Speedometer 3 test ever. The test evaluates the performance of browsers, and those built on Google’s open-source browser engine perform the best. The performance of Chrome has increased by 10% since August 2024. Google’s version of the benchmarking tool has been superseded by Speedometer 3.1, the most recent version.

The blog post said, “Today’s The Fast and the Curious post explores how Chrome achieved the highest score on the new Speedometer 3.0, an upgraded browser benchmarking tool to optimise the performance of Web applications.”

Google claims that by analysing Chrome‘s performance over time, it optimised it to obtain the highest Speedometer 3 score. The company has contributed to a 72% rise in Chrome’s Speedometer score since the benchmark’s launch in May 2022, which has improved user performance.

For those who don’t know, Google, Apple, Mozilla, Intel, and Microsoft collaborated to create Speedometer 3.0, a browser measurement tool, with the goal of making Chrome quicker for users.

To increase Chrome’s score, specific optimisations were implemented after analysing Chrome’s workloads and the most time-consuming features. The SpaceSplitString method was optimised to eliminate redundant bound tests and duplicated stylesheets. Memory allocations were optimised to decrease drawing path and arc expenses. Additionally, superfluous processing was discovered when constructing form editors. Common selectors were discovered inside querySelector, resulting in the establishment of a hot path for common selectors. These optimisations resulted in increased Chrome’s overall performance.

The Chrome 137 stable version got 51.43 points in the Speedometer 3 benchmark test, while the beta and development versions earned 51.83 and 52.35 points, respectively, according to a company graph.

Google claims that it optimised innerHTML utilising fast paths for parsing, which was applied in WebKit and extended for a 1% increase in Speedometer 3. Nothing, a UK-based tech company, is all set to launch its next smartphone, the Nothing Phone 3, on July 1. The phone will be offered in India and other global markets. The Phone 3’s aesthetic elements have been presented in a teaser, and it is slated to be introduced sans its trademark Glyph interface.

Nothing has posted a teaser image on X labelled “ultra-precise engineering,” which shows a partial glimpse of the rear panel design of the Nothing Phone 3. The image displays a dual-tone shade with lines and cuts, indicating a design shift with the new phone that eliminates the Glyph Interface, which the business has previously indicated will be deleted from the next model.

The Glyph interface was a critical design element that distinguished Nothing phones from its competitors aesthetically.

Vivo’s sub-brand iQOO has officially revealed the launch date of their forthcoming phone, the Z10 5G, in India. The iQOO Z10 Lite 5G will make its debut in the nation later this month. It will accompany the iQOO Z10 5G and iQOO Z10x 5G models. The next phone will include a 6,000mAh battery and a dual rear camera configuration.

The Google Pixel 9 Series kicked off the trend of using AI to categorise and label screenshots for easy access. Its standalone Screenshots app, while not perfect, was a step in the right direction. If you take a lot of screenshots, you can relate to the frustration that comes with having a cluttered Screenshots folder. On a Pixel, you can organise your screenshots into different collections and manage different projects simultaneously. Every screenshot is supplemented with an AI-generated meta description, which allows you to search for it easily.

After capturing the Memory of a bus ticket, we were impressed with how Mind Space analysed it and neatly laid out the date, timing, seat, fare, and other details. It also prompted us to create a reminder for the journey with just one tap. Capturing a WhatsApp conversation about flight timings and expected arrivals yielded a similar result.

The Memories in the Mind Space can be filtered by the apps in which they were captured. However, it does not let you create new projects or collections. On the bright side, the AI search tool works like a charm and responds very well to natural language input. Not only does it bring up the Memories associated with your query, but it also generates a natural language response containing the information you need. We asked the Mind Space about upcoming bus rides, and it accurately looked into the saved tickets and presented key data from the most relevant one.
