Google recently confirmed the availability and functionality of its Ask Photos feature, which is an extension for Google Photos that allows the Gemini AI assistant to view user photographs and answer questions. Users must allow Gemini Apps Activity and sign in using the same account in order to access the functionality, which enables Gemini to search the Google Photos Library via prompts.

Google announced a new function that is compatible with iOS and Android. Users must have the Google Photos and Gemini applications installed, activated, and logged in with the same account as the Photos app. Using prompts, users may ask the Gemini app to look for a picture in the Google Photos Library.

By making conversational queries, users may filter out particular photographs using the Gemini integration in the Photos app. In addition to providing basic information about the image, users can ask follow-up questions in case the AI is unable to locate the image. You may use the Gemini mobile app to ask questions based on face groups, location, date, description, or the current conversation.

Here is how to use Gemini AI to look for images and answer queries in Google Photos

To utilise Gemini Apps, you must have both the Gemini mobile app and a personal Google account. Google Photos is not available in Gemini or Google Messages, thus you must get it from Google Play. Gemini Apps are only available when Gemini Apps Activity is enabled.

To link Google Photos and Gemini Apps, launch the Gemini mobile app and sign in with the same account. Ask the app to find a photo in your Google Photos Library, and mention @Google Photos or my photos in the prompt to ensure that it utilises the Google Photos app.

Google photos enables users to find pictures and videos based on face groups, location, description, and current conversation using the Gemini mobile app. Examples include looking for images of Alex, recent selfies, travels, and landscapes. Users may also locate essential information in images, such as birthday party themes, hotel meals, the top ten items seen, and driver’s license numbers. The app also lets users search for photographs and videos from their current conversations.
