Vivo X Fold 5 India launch imminent, Flipkart availability confirmed

The upcoming foldable smartphone can withstand freezing temperatures of up to -20°C.

The Vivo X Fold 5 India launch has been teased, and it will have a Zeiss-backed 50-megapixel telephoto camera. The 6,000mAh battery also supports 80W wired and 40W wireless fast charging. The Flipkart availability has been confirmed. The Vivo X Fold 5 is anticipated to resemble its Chinese cousin. The Vivo X Fold 5 weighs 217g and measures 9.2mm thick when folded and 4.3mm when unfolded. It features an 8.03-inch flexible inner screen and a 6.53-inch cover display supported by 8T LTPO technology.

Vivo has confirmed the imminent India launch of the X Fold 5 foldable phone, with a specific date to be announced shortly. A Flipkart banner confirms the folding phone’s availability in India through the e-commerce website.

The smartphone Vivo X Fold 5 has a carbon fibre support hinge that has been tested 600,000 times and can withstand freezing temperatures of up to -20°C. When folded, it measures 9.2 mm, and when unfolded, it measures 4.3 mm and weighs 217 g.

Like the Chinese model, the Vivo X Fold 5 will have a 6,000mAh battery that can be charged at 80W wired and 40W wireless quickly. It is said to be IPX8+IPX9 water resistant and IP5X dust resistant.

Vivo X Fold 5 Specifications (Chinese variant)

In case you didn’t know, the Vivo X Fold 5 was unveiled in China last week. With a 6.53-inch outside screen and an 8.03-inch 8T LTPO main screen, the foldable phone boasts a 120Hz refresh rate, a high-frequency PWM dimming rate, a 4,500-nit local peak brightness, TÜV Rheinland global eye protection 3.0, and Zeiss Master colour certifications. It is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, runs OriginOS 5 on top of Android 15 and has 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and 1TB UFS4.1 onboard storage.

The Vivo X Fold 5 has a triple back camera with Zeiss T lens coating, a 50-megapixel primary sensor, an ultra-wide shooter, a periscope telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom support, and telephoto macro capabilities. The device also has a 20-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video calls.

The phone has a 6,000mAh battery, 80W wired and 40W wireless charging, and an IP5X dust and water resistance rating. It has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for security and can function at temperatures as low as -20 degrees Celsius.
