Sony India has released the BRAVIA Projector 7 and 9 with XR Processor, which aims to provide a professional-grade cinematic HDR experience at home. These Native 4K SXRD laser projectors offer deep blacks, vibrant colours, and 4K clarity. They join Sony’s existing home cinema lineup, which includes the VPL-XW5000ES and VPL-XW7000ES, and provide laser brightness, 4K 120fps gaming, and a small design.
Sony’s BRAVIA Projectors 7 and 9 are intended for dedicated home theatre and media rooms, contributing to the unified Cinema is Coming Home brand. The BRAVIA Projector 7 and 9 are compact 4K laser home cinema projectors with cutting-edge design and a compact size. They have higher lumen outputs (2,200 and 3,400) for better image quality in low-light situations. The projector is driven by an XR Processor, which provides professional-grade movie, sports, and gaming experiences.
The XR Processor for Projectors provides a professional-grade cinematic experience through four strong picture technologies: XR Dynamic Tone Mapping, XR Deep Black, XR TRILUMINOS PRO, and XR Clear Image.

For stunning images with rich gradation, high brightness, and vibrant colours, XR Dynamic Tone Mapping examines peak brightness frame by frame.
While XR Clear Image enhances visuals by upscaling content to nearly 4K quality, XR TRILUMINOS PRO brings more than a billion colours to life. IMAX Enhanced content is compatible with both the BRAVIA Projector 7 and 9.
Additionally, the projector has HDMI 2.1 Auto Low-Latency Mode and 4K/120 fps, so gamers may have the finest experience possible. It works with remote maintenance services like OvrC and Domotz, as well as home automation systems like Control4, Crestron, Savant, and AMX. Rooms with challenging characteristics, including taller ceilings and restricted depth, can have the projectors placed.
A Live Colour Enhancer on the BRAVIA Projector 9 produces images with greater vibrancy without sacrificing saturation. Customers with Cinemascope displays may now digitally switch between 2.35:1 and 16:9 aspect ratio video without changing the lens, thanks to the new Aspect mode in the BRAVIA Projector 7.

The price of the BRAVIA Projector 7 (VPL-XW5100ES) is set at Rs 6,50,000. Whereas, the BRAVIA Projector 9 (VPL-XW8100ES) will be available at a price tag of Rs 17,00,000.
The BRAVIA Projector 7 & 9 will be available at the Sony Authorised Distributor channel starting July 15, 2025. Both models come with a standard 3-year warranty on the main unit and 3 years or 5,000 hours for the laser light source. The current Home Projector models, VPL-XW5000 and VPL-XW7000, will also have an upgraded warranty.
