iPhone 17 Pro likely to receive a price hike; Here is how much it may cost

According to rumours, the iPhone 17 Pro may see a $50 price increase this year, and other models in the lineup are also believed to be more expensive.

According to a fresh report, the iPhone 17 Pro would cost roughly Rs 1,24,900 and come with 256GB of basic storage. The handset will likely cost more in the United States than the iPhone 16 Pro, after a $50 price increase this year. The upcoming series is expected to have four distinct models: the basic iPhone 17, the slimmer iPhone 17 Air, the premium iPhone 17 Pro, and the iPhone 17 Pro Max.

Tipster Instant Digital claimed a $50 price increase for the iPhone 17 Pro, bringing it to about $1,049 in the United States. The iPhone 17 Pro is projected to be released in India at a base price of Rs 1,24,900, up from the current base price of Rs 1,19,900 for the iPhone 16 Pro. According to reports, all iPhone 17 series models may face a $50 price increase owing to US trade conflicts with China and rising component prices. With the debut just a month away, it’s unclear if Apple will boost pricing soon enough.

The iPhone 16 Pro’s 128GB storage model begins at $999 in the United States, presumably indicating an upgrade for consumers. The iPhone 17 Pro will have a basic storage capacity of 256GB, up from the current 128GB model. This is comparable with the Pro Max model, which saw a boost in basic storage capacity with the iPhone 15 Pro Max in 2023. Last year’s iPhone 16 Pro Max also had 256GB of storage.

The iPhone 17 series is expected to be released in early September 2025, possibly featuring the iPhone 17, 17 Air, 17 Pro, and 17 Pro Max models. As per reports, Apple suppliers have produced a new anti-reflective glass with high productivity, indicating that mass production is feasible. Ceramic Shield glass and an oleophobic coating that resists fingerprints are features of the most recent iPhone models. The iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max models, which now have Ceramic Shield glass with an oleophobic coating that prevents fingerprints, are anticipated to be the only versions to get the new coating. The present Ceramic Shield may stay in the standard iPhone 17 or iPhone 17 Air.

Apple plans to add up to 12GB of RAM to all iPhone 17 variants, offering fast wired and wireless charging, longer battery life, and improved speed and efficiency. The A19 Pro Bionic chip may power the iPhone 17 Pro, while the A18 chip, used in the iPhone 16 series, is likely to be retained in the basic iPhone 17 and 17 Air.

Images of the iPhone 17 Pro dummy unit, which includes a new back camera design akin to the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max, have been leaked by Apple tipster Majin Bu. The module has expanded in size and has been placed in an extensive strip. The phone also has a LiDAR scanner and an LED light.
