Pixel Watch 4 and Pixel Buds 2a land with real upgrades, not just new names

A sharper display, smarter AI, and ANC earbuds that finally make sense for the A series.

If you are shopping for smartwatches for endurance, the Pixel Watch 4 battery life headline will catch your eye first. Google’s new watch promises longer run times, faster charging, and a fresh display that is made to shine outdoors. It arrives alongside the Pixel Buds 2a, which bring Active Noise Cancellation to the A lineup at a friendlier price. On paper, both updates feel purposeful rather than cosmetic, and that is exactly what buyers want.

Pixel Watch 4: what is new

Google keeps the circular silhouette but reworks the face with a first-of-its-kind Actua 360 display. The screen is physically curved to provide a fuller active area and an edgeless look, paired with a brighter output rated up to 3000 nits for improved visibility in direct sunlight. Bezels shrink, watch faces get bolder, and Material 3 Expressive makes the UI feel more alive.

Under the hood, the watch moves to the Snapdragon W5 Gen 2 Wearable Platform backed by a next-gen ML co-processor that is billed as 25 per cent faster while sipping half the power. That combo sets the stage for smoother interactions, snappier notifications, and better battery discipline.

Battery, charging, and daily use

  • Rated battery life: up to 30 hours on 41 mm, up to 40 hours on 45 mm

  • Battery Saver extends that to roughly two days on 41 mm and three days on 45 mm

  • Quick Charge Dock: 0 to 50 per cent in about 15 minutes

Those are the numbers that matter because they shape real ownership. If the watch consistently hits them, you can sleep-track overnight and still have enough juice to get through the morning gym and commute without hugging a charger.

Safety, durability, and serviceability

The Pixel Watch 4 claims a rare party trick in wearables: loss of pulse detection. It continues to lean on health-first features while adding durability via custom Corning Gorilla Glass and an aerospace-grade aluminium case with 50-meter water resistance. The watch is also serviceable for the first time with a replaceable battery and display, a welcome move for longevity in a category that usually treats repairs as an afterthought.

AI on your wrist

Gemini is now a wrist-raise away. You can ask for quick summaries, set reminders, or start workouts by voice. Paired with a stronger haptic engine and louder speaker, the watch finally feels ready for hands-free use in noisy places. That is where Gemini on smartwatch support becomes more than just a buzzword.

India price and variants

  • 41 mm Wi-Fi: Rs 39,900

  • 45 mm Wi-Fi: Rs 43,900
Color options line up with Pixel phones, and there is a healthy spread of new bands for style swaps.

Pixel Buds 2a: ANC where it counts

The A series finally gets Pixel Buds 2a ANC, powered by the Tensor A1 audio chip with Silent Seal 1.5. The buds are smaller and lighter, ship with a twist-to-adjust stabiliser, four eartip sizes, and carry an IP54 rating for sweat and splashes. Battery life is quoted at up to 7 hours with ANC on, with a total of up to 20 hours including the case, or twice the listening time of the first A-series when ANC is off.

  • Comfort first fit with stabiliser fin

  • Hands-free help with “Hey Google”

  • Tensor A1 audio for processing and noise control

  • Price in India: Rs 12,999
    Colours: Iris and Hazel

Pixel Buds Pro 2: small refresh, useful update

The Pro 2 model gets a new Moonstone colour and an incoming software update focused on feature refinements. If you prefer multipoint stability and deeper ANC, keep an eye on that Pixel Buds Pro 2 update.

Yes, mostly. The display bump, faster charging, and improved stamina give the Watch 4 the practical lift last-gen owners were asking for. The serviceable design is a quiet win for sustainability, and Gemini access finally feels integrated rather than experimental. Pixel Buds 2a hit the sweet spot for commuters who want ANC without a premium price. If Google nails consistency on battery and connectivity, these additions will feel less like yearly refreshes and more like fixes to everyday pain points.
