Apple unveiled 14-inch MacBook Pro with M5 chip in India and globally

The Mac experience features a Liquid Retina XDR display, a 12MP Center Stage camera, a six-speaker sound system, Apple Intelligence capabilities, and macOS Tahoe performance.

Apple officially confirmed the debut of the M5 MacBook Pro today, after posting a teaser of the device on X.com. Of course, the new model is endowed with Apple Intelligence features, which improve graphics performance. It is claimed to give up to 86x faster AI performance, up to 30x faster GPU performance with ray tracing, and up to 5.5x faster CPU performance than Intel-based computers. The new 14-inch laptop with M5 has better SSD performance than the previous generation for tasks like importing RAW images and exporting large videos. Here’s additional information about this.

Specifications and Features

The 14-inch Liquid Retina XDR display with nano-texture option provides 1600 nits of peak HDR brightness and up to 1000 nits for SDR content. The update also includes an advanced 12MP Center Stage camera, studio-quality microphones, and an immersive six-speaker sound system that supports Spatial Audio.

Apple’s new MacBook Pro with M5 CPU has improved AI capabilities and cutting-edge technology. It has a next-generation 10-core GPU with a Neural Accelerator, which provides up to 3.5x faster AI performance than the M4 and 6x faster than the M1. providing better system-wide performance and more capabilities. In comparison to the M4 model, the new GPU provides up to 1.6x faster graphics performance in professional applications and 1.6x higher frame rates in games.

This chip is ideal for everyday AI workflows such as text-to-image generation, deep learning, data modelling, and AI video enhancement. The 16-core Neural Engine speeds up on-device operations and improves the performance of generative models. The M5 MacBook Pro also has up to 2x quicker SSD speed, allowing users to load local LLM faster and store up to 4TB of data. With over 150GB/s of unified memory bandwidth, users may work with enormous AI models or manage massive scenes in 3D apps.

Furthermore, the new 14-inch Mac outperforms Intel-based and M1 models, with up to 86x quicker AI, 30x better GPU performance with ray tracing, and 5.5x faster CPU performance. Upgraders to the M1 should anticipate up to 6x faster AI, 6.8x faster GPU, and 2x faster CPU performance. The battery life is remarkable, lasting up to 24 hours for Intel-based systems and up to four hours for M1 users.

The Mac is supposed to give the same performance whether plugged in or on battery, and users may also benefit from fast charging, which can charge up to 50% in 30 minutes with a 96W or higher USB-C power adapter.

Apple Intelligence, which is built into macOS, provides intuitive functionality for both upgraders and new Mac users. Intel-based and M1 systems provide 16GB of initial unified memory, an extra Thunderbolt port, and a space black finish with an anodised seal.

Price in India, Availability

The 14-inch MacBook Pro with M5 is available for pre-order on the Apple Store and the app in 30 countries, including India, with availability beginning Wednesday, October 22. Starting at Rs 1,69,999 (INDIA) and Rs 1,59,999 (INDIA) with education savings, it is available in space black and silver. Apple Intelligence is available in beta with support for English, French, German, Italian, Portuguese (Brazil), Spanish, Chinese (simplified), Japanese, and Korean.
