The upcoming phone will be made available in two colour options.

OnePlus has announced that the OnePlus 15R will launch in India on December 17 as the first smartphone featuring Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 SoC. In India, the gadget will be released with OxygenOS. The 15R will be available in black and green via Amazon and the OnePlus online shop. The OnePlus 15R will be launched alongside the OnePlus Pad Go 2. The rest of the details related to the smartphone and tablet are yet to be announced.

The OnePlus 15R will be the latest addition to the OnePlus R line. The company announced today that it will be the first handset to use the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 Mobile platform, the most recent generation of the Snapdragon 8 Series, which was previously utilised in the OnePlus 11R, OnePlus 12R, and OnePlus 13R. According to the company, the chipset, developed together by Qualcomm and OnePlus, provides a huge gain in performance, with a 36% rise in CPU performance, an 11% increase in GPU performance, and a startling 46% improvement in AI capabilities over its predecessor.

As per teaser images, the OnePlus 15R has a dual camera setup on the back that is vertically aligned and housed within a square camera module, similar to the design characteristics of the high-end OnePlus 15 model, enhancing its photographic capabilities. On the right side, users will find the power button alongside the volume controls, while the left side includes an unspecified button, possibly for additional functionality.

Previous reports suggest that the upcoming phone will be a rebranded version of the OnePlus Ace 6 and may be derived from the upcoming OnePlus Ace 6T. This shift in strategy was driven by fresh reports following the product’s anticipated launch schedule, which corresponds to the flagship model’s recent release in China.
