Before you begin

Like other features in the Create section, Me Meme isn’t available to all Google Photos users. Currently, this feature is only available in the US. It will be rolled out slowly in other locations as the year advances. If you’re in the US, you can get your hands on this tool right away. If you can’t find this feature on your phone, make sure the Google Photos app is updated to the latest version.

Here are a few tips to keep in mind while using Me Meme:

  • If you want to create a niche meme, upload the reference image from your phone’s gallery.
  • Make sure the image of the subject is well-lit.
  • Ideally, the subject’s image should be in portrait orientation, and not landscape.
