Google has added a new tool that lets people transfer chat history straight from ChatGPT and other cloud storage providers to its platform. This feature lets users bring in chats from multiple platforms, making sure that conversations are always available across services. Chat history is synced with Google accounts, making it easy to access from multiple devices. The functionality employs encryption and safe transfer methods to protect data privacy.
Import your AI memories and chat history into Gemini
The new memory import option makes the process simple for users to add their preferences and personal information to the Gemini app. This feature allows you to import memories from other AI apps into the Gemini app, which enhances its understanding of important information, such as user interests and personal data. To use this function, users must go to the Settings menu and choose the import option. This will bring up a prompt for usage with other AI apps. Once the external app generates a summary of the user’s preferences, it’s easy to copy and paste this summary into Gemini. Thereafter, Gemini will look at the imported data and keep it safe, which will improve future interactions based on what the user has said.

According to the blog post, Personal Intelligence in Gemini is meant to improve how users engage with each other by integrating information from Gmail, Photos, search history, and past conversations. One of the main uses for this function is to make personalised travel plans by using information from previous conversations to plan trips and compare hotels.
