Google Photos brings the most requested video playback speed controls on Android: Details

The move to provide this capability across multiple platforms is in line with what users want and need.

Google Photos has added a new feature that lets Android users change the speed of videos. There are five speeds to choose from: 0.25x, 0.5x, 1x (regular speed), 1.5x, and 2x. This improvement is in response to users’ frequent requests for better playback options. But there is no confirmed release date for this functionality on iOS or web apps right now.

Google Photos is actively working to decrease the load of decision-making for users by limiting AI-driven editing tools. Furthermore, Google has officially confirmed the introduction of several playing speed options inside Google Photos. Furthermore, according to a recently released support page, Android users may now change the playing speed of videos, which has been a long-standing user request.

The company, via a community post, said, “We’re excited to share that we’re now rolling out the ability to change the playback speed of your videos in Google Photos on Android. This has been a top request from our community for a long time, and we’re thrilled to bring this feature to life.”

People who use the Google Photos app on Android can now change the speed at which videos play back to make them more engaging to watch. Users must first launch the Google Photos app and choose the movie they want to edit in order to begin. They can go to the playback speed options by hitting the “More” option, which has three vertical dots. The application lets you choose among speeds of 0.25X, 0.5X, and 1X (the normal speed), as well as higher speeds of 1.5X and 2X. After selecting a preferred speed, users must click “Done,” indicated by a checkmark, to finalise and save their adjustments.

There is anticipation about Google’s wide availability of the new feature, especially for Google Photos on iOS and the web. While Google has not announced a particular launch date, the function is regarded just as basic and has sparked significant curiosity from consumers.
