The wait, the speculation, the placeholder prices that gave everyone minor heart attacks, and the endless “will it actually be $100?” discourse, all of it ends today. GTA 6 pre-order price, editions, and bonuses are now officially confirmed, and Rockstar Games has finally told us how much it will cost to return to Vice City this November. Here’s everything you need to know before you hand over your money.

Pre-orders for Grand Theft Auto VI went live at midnight local time on June 25, 2026, rolling out region by region across the globe. You can reserve your copy right now through the PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store, Rockstar Games Store, and participating retailers worldwide, including Amazon, GameStop, Best Buy, and Walmart. The game launches on November 19, 2026 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Pro, and Xbox Series X/S. PC players, unfortunately, will need to practice the ancient art of patience, as no PC release date has been confirmed.

GTA 6 Price and Editions Explained

Rockstar has kept things straightforward with two editions. No Collector’s Edition, no SteelBook, no elaborate $200 statue of a sports car. Just two options.

The Standard Edition is priced at $79.99 (Rs 7,600 approx), making it a $10 jump over the $70 that became the new normal for current-generation AAA games. It is still cheaper than the $100 ceiling that some industry analysts had nervously predicted, but it does place GTA 6 alongside Mario Kart World as one of the few major releases to push past the $70 mark this generation.

The Ultimate Edition costs $99.99 and comes with a collection of exclusive premium vehicles, including a 1995 Grotti Cheetah sports car, matching Hawk and Little Morgan revolvers styled in a Vice City theme for both protagonists, personalised sidearm variants for Jason and Lucia, additional outfits, weapons, and extra vehicles. The clever part is how the bonus content is delivered. Rather than dumping everything in your in-game locker on day one, the Ultimate Edition content is woven into Jason and Lucia’s story and unlocks progressively as you play through the campaign. It is a thoughtful way to do it. Rockstar will also offer an Ultimate Edition upgrade separately at a later date, so you do not have to commit $100 upfront if you want to start with the Standard Edition first.

Pre-Order Bonuses for GTA 6

Every player who pre-orders GTA 6, or purchases the game before November 20, 2026, will receive the Vintage Vice City Pack. Rockstar describes it as a collection of items that “flash back to when the neon burned brightest,” a bundle of themed cosmetics, vehicles, and outfits nodding to Vice City’s iconic neon-soaked aesthetic.

Beyond that, digital pre-orders come with one free month of GTA+, Rockstar’s subscription service, which can be redeemed immediately and used across GTA Online and select Rockstar titles. If you are already a GTA Online regular, that is a decent sweetener. Players who go digital will also be able to begin pre-loading the game from November 12, a full seven days before launch, so launch day is not spent watching a progress bar crawl.

The Story of GTA 6: Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos

GTA 6 centres on two protagonists and the Bonnie-and-Clyde energy between them is very much intentional. Jason Duval is a former Army soldier who returned to Leonida and ended up working for local drug runners in the Keys, living rent-free in a property owned by a veteran trafficker named Brian Heder. He is not an action hero. He is a tired man doing small criminal favours and trying to navigate a world that keeps making things harder.

Lucia Caminos is the other half of the equation, and the more historically significant one. She is the first female lead protagonist in a mainline GTA single-player game, a milestone for a franchise that stretches back to 1997. Lucia grew up in Liberty City, was trained to fight by her father from a young age, ended up at Leonida Penitentiary, and got out through what the official character description calls “sheer luck.” Her goal is simple and quietly devastating: to get the life her mother always dreamed of.

Together, their story kicks off after a robbery goes wrong, pulling both of them into a criminal conspiracy that sprawls across the entire state of Leonida. The supporting cast includes Cal Hampton, a paranoid friend of Jason’s; Boobie Ike, a Vice City legend who built a business empire from the streets; music duo Real Dimez; record label boss Dre’Quan Priest; and seasoned bank robber Raul Bautista, whose recklessness makes every heist more dangerous than the last.

Welcome Back to Vice City and the State of Leonida

GTA 6 returns to Vice City, Rockstar’s sun-drenched fictional version of Miami, but the scope is far bigger than the classic 2002 original. The map encompasses the wider state of Leonida, inspired by Florida in all its contradictory, beautifully chaotic glory. Confirmed locations beyond Vice City itself include the Leonida Keys, the tourism-heavy beaches of Port Gellhorn, the rural stretches of Ambrosia which are home to a biker gang, the swampy Grassrivers region, and the wilderness of Mount Kalaga National Park. It is one of the most geographically diverse open worlds Rockstar has ever attempted.

The game is set in the modern day, meaning social media culture, internet fame, and contemporary American life are baked into the world. If you have ever watched a Florida crime story unfold on the internet in real-time, you will feel very at home.

GTA 6 Is Single-Player Only at Launch

One of the biggest pieces of news tucked inside the pre-order announcement is what Rockstar did not say. There is no mention of a multiplayer mode or a GTA Online successor at launch. Rockstar has explicitly described GTA 6 as “a single-player experience” for its November 19 release. GTA Online continues to operate as usual, meaning the decade-old multiplayer mode will keep running on legacy infrastructure while the new game launches without it. Whether a GTA 6 Online mode follows in the months after launch is currently unknown.

GTA 6 PC release date leak

Physical Edition Has No Disc

Here is one detail worth flagging for anyone who assumed a physical copy means a disc. It does not. The physical edition of GTA 6 contains a download code inside the box, not a traditional game disc. Physical copies will be available from November 12, specifically to support pre-loading before launch day. This is now a common practice across the industry, but if you were expecting a shiny disc for your shelf, manage expectations accordingly.

What About a PC Version?

There is no confirmed GTA 6 PC release date. Former Rockstar developers have suggested the PC version is still a long way off, noting that console platforms, particularly PS5, take priority. If GTA V’s timeline is any guide, PC players could be waiting 18 months or more. Rockstar has not made any official comment on a PC version, so for now, the game is console exclusive by default.

The $79.99 standard price will sting slightly; there is no getting around that. But given that GTA 6 is arriving as the biggest gaming launch in years, a game that reportedly took over a decade to build and features an entire fictional state to explore with a genuinely ambitious dual-protagonist narrative, the argument that it represents poor value is a hard one to sustain. More interesting is the question it raises for the rest of the industry: if Rockstar normalises $80 for a standard edition blockbuster, every other major publisher will notice and follow. The real price of GTA 6 might not be felt at checkout today, but in the games industry’s pricing playbook for years to come.
