Motorola has expanded its Edge 70 series in India with the launch of the Motorola Edge 70 Max. The new smartphone comes with a dual rear camera setup featuring a 50-megapixel main camera. The device runs on Android 16-based Hello UI and is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 8 series chipset. Moreover, it features a 6.8-inch AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate. Lastly, it packs a 7,100mAh battery.

Pricing and Availability

The price of the Motorola Edge 70 Max in India starts at Rs 54,999 for the 8GB RAM with 256GB storage variant. The 12GB RAM with 256GB storage option will be available at Rs 59,999. The device is offered in three Pantone-curated colour options – Pantone Aqua Gray, Pantone Dark Shadow, and Pantone Ice Melt.

The device is scheduled to go on sale from July 20 via the company’s official website and Flipkart.

Buyers can avail themselves of up to a Rs 5,000 bank discount or a Rs 5,000 exchange bonus and up to 18 months of no-cost EMI from leading banks. Jio offers include a free SIM with Google Gemini Pro access, 5000GB Jio AI Cloud Storage, and an OTT Pass for Rs 200/month with eligible plans.

The Motorola Edge 70 Max is equipped with a Quad HD+ (2K) Extreme AMOLED display, which offers 77% more pixels than Full HD for better clarity. It offers up to 7000 nits peak brightness, a refresh rate of 144Hz, HDR-quality pictures and over a billion colours with 10-bit depth and DCI-P3 gamut. The display is Pantone-validated for colour accuracy. The gadget is built with an aircraft-grade aluminium frame and matte glass, making it resistant to fingerprints and reflections. It’s tough, too, with MIL-STD-810H military-grade ruggedness, Corning Gorilla Glass 7i and IP68/IP69 dust and water resistance.

The smartphone is equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset that has peak clock speeds of up to 3.8GHz. It has up to 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB of storage for rapid response. It also comes with a 5500mm2 vapour chamber cooling system and liquid metal thermal gel to handle heat dissipation, so it won’t throttle during intense activity.

The phone boots Android 16 with Hello UX out of the box. Moto Secure and the Motorola ThinkShield platform provide improved security, including advanced privacy settings and full protection for the device. A notable introduction is Motorola Qira, which is an AI experience connecting Motorola smartphones, Lenovo PCs and tablets. The capabilities include Chat Mode, Next Move, Creator Zone, Pay Attention and Catch Me Up.

Motorola Edge 70 Max includes a 50MP Sony LYTIA 710 sensor with optical image stabilisation, an 8MP ultra-wide and macro lens and a 32MP front camera with the ability to capture 4K selfie videos. It comes with AI features, including Photo Enhancement Engine and Portrait Mode with Dynamic Bokeh, Horizon Lock and Frame Match for better composition. The gadget also offers accurate colour reproduction using Pantone Validated Colours and SkinTone Validation.

The device comes with a 7,100mAh silicon-carbon battery that offers up to 58 hours of use on a single charge. It supports fast charging with 90W TurboPower charging. It also boasts a 25W Qi2 magnetic wireless charging solution for fast, cable-free power. Audio upgrades include Dolby Atmos, dual stereo speakers, Hi-Res Audio, and Snapdragon Sound for immersive experiences.
