When it comes to smartphone releases, September is typically a pretty busy month. This is around the time when Apple hosts its annual fall event to unveil the new line of iPhones. This year, there are some interesting releases lined up from Samsung, Poco, and Xiaomi as well. If you’re thinking of buying a phone right now, we suggest you wait for these releases to expand your options. Here are all the upcoming smartphones that are scheduled to launch in September 2026.

Apple iPhone 18 Series

Apple’s annual fall event is scheduled for September 9 this year. This is where the tech giant will reveal the new iPhone lineup. The new iPhone 18 series will comprise the usual 4 variants – Base, Plus, Pro, and Pro Max. The Pro models will be powered by Apple’s in-house A20 chipset, which is reportedly based on a 2nm process. The non-Pro variants may get an underclocked version of this chip. Some reports suggest that the launch of the non-Pro models will be delayed till spring 2027.

Apple iPhone Ultra

Apple Soft-Reveals Long-Awaited iPhone Fold in Dark Matter Season 2

Apple’s first foldable, the iPhone Ultra, will launch alongside the iPhone 18 series. Rumours suggest that it will have a passport-style form factor and a 5.5-inch OLED cover display. The inner OLED display will likely span 7.8 inches and have a 4:3 aspect ratio. The smartphone will be powered by the Apple A20 chipset. Software duties will be handled by iOS 19. Apple will bring back Touch ID for its foldable, as the Face ID components are too big to be accommodated on the cover display. When unfolded, the smartphone will be just 4.5mm thin. The rear camera array will comprise 48MP sensors for the primary and ultrawide cameras.

Every year, Poco puts out its most loaded smartphone as its F series offering. This year’s Poco F9 Pro and F9 Ultra will be unveiled globally on September 1. The two smartphones are powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. Designed for gaming, their AMOLED displays have a staggering 185Hz refresh rate. The Ultra model packs a massive 8,050mAh battery. It also gets an independent subwoofer designed by Bose. The F9 series will be Poco’s most premium one yet.

Vivo has confirmed that the next offering in its T5 series will launch on September 2. Its iQOO counterpart, Z11 (our review here), went on sale last month. The two smartphones share the same design, specs, and features. The Vivo T5 will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7500 Turbo chipset and run OriginOS 6 (Android 16) out of the box. Its curved AMOLED display will have a 144Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 3,000 nits. The rear camera bar will house a 50MP primary shooter and an 8MP ultrawide lens. The 7,050mAh battery pack will support 44W wired charging.

Redmi 17

The newest iteration in Redmi’s numbered series will go live on September 3. The Redmi 17 will rock the Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 SoC under its hood. Software duties will be handled by Android 16 with a HyperOS 3 skin on top of it. The 6.9-inch IPS LCD panel will have a 120Hz refresh rate. The camera island will comprise a 50MP primary shooter and an auxiliary lens. The smartphone will support expandable storage. The massive 7,900mAh battery will support 45W wired charging. Xiaomi has confirmed 3 colour variants for the smartphone – Eternal Orange, Absolute Black, and Endless Blue.

Infinix Hot 70 Pro 5G+

Infinix Hot 70 Pro 5G+ Upcoming Smartphones in September 2026

Infinix has confirmed the launch of its next Hot series offering. The Hot 70 Pro 5G+ is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7100 SoC. Its 6.76-inch FHD+ display has a 144Hz refresh rate. The 50MP primary shooter uses a Sony IMX882 sensor with 2x lossless zoom. Infinix has also revealed that the smartphone is 7.85mm thick. The 6,000mAh battery pack supports 45W wired charging. There will be 4 colour options on offer: Thermo Orange, Mirage Green, Silk Glow Purple, and Dive Blue.

Poco X8 Power

The Poco X8 Power will join the Pro models (our review here) in the X8 lineup this month. It packs a massive 10,000mAh battery pack under its hood. There’s support for 100W wired charging and 27W reverse wired charging. Powering the smartphone is the Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 SoC. The rear camera array comprises a 50MP primary shooter and an 8MP ultrawide lens. There’s IP68/IP69K protection on board. On top of that, the device is compliant with MIL-STD-810H durability standards.

Samsung Galaxy S26 FE

Samsung S26 FE Upcoming Smartphones in September 2026

Samsung has officially announced a Fan Edition model for the Galaxy S26 series. The smartphone has a smooth 6.9-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a 120Hz refresh rate. This panel can reach 1,900 nits in High Brightness Mode. The rear camera array comprises a 50MP primary shooter, a 12MP ultrawide lens, and an 8MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. Powering the device is Samsung’s in-house Exynos 2500 chipset. The 4,900mAh battery pack supports 45W wired and 15W wireless charging.
