Jio News with support for 12 Indian languages launched on Android, iOS and Web

Reliance Jio has today expanded its range of services in India with the launch of Jio News. As the name suggests, Jio News is an online aggregator that is available for both iOS and Android platforms. It can also be accessed on the Web. The new service is aimed to provide its users with real-time news updates about various major events such as Lok Sabha, Assembly Elections 2019 and IPL 2019.

Jio News comes with support for over 12 languages and is said to offer news content from over 150 live news channels, more than 800 magazines and 250 newspapers. It also curates news from various online blogs and news websites in India and across the world. The service uses artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning to bring users content that they would find to be most relevant from thousands of news pieces that are available.

The languages in which Jio News is available in include Bengali, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Marathi, Punjabi, Tamil, and Urdu among others. It is worth noticing that all of these are widely spoken in the country.

In a press statement, Reliance Jio has claimed that Jio News users would have the ability to personalise their homepage. They will be given options to choose from various topics of interest like politics, sports, entertainment, business, technology, lifestyle, fashion, health, and finance. They can choose the ones that they like reading about and Jio News will send them articles related to that particular topic.

You would not only be getting news articles via the service as Reliance Jio will also be offering users over 150 live TV news channels via its Jio News service. It will also show trending videos of multiple genres including automotive, Bollywood, fashion, health, technology, and sports.

Jio News comes with Jio XpressNews, Jio Mags, Jio NewsPaper along with live TV and videos. The company also mentioned in a statement that it issued that all the existing users of these apps will be migrated automatically to Jio News app. Furthermore, if you are a Jio user, you will receive ‘premium access’, whereas non-Jio users will get access to all the available features by logging into the app for a trial period.

Jio News app will also come with a dedicated Newsstand section that will let users read magazines and newspapers without downloading them. In addition to this, the app provides the ability to read magazines and newspapers from the past as well. The Jio News app can be downloaded via App Store and Google Play Store.
