WhatsApp users must agree to its new Terms and Services to continue using the app: Report

The new development will come into effect from February 2021

According to the latest report, Facebook-owned instant messaging service, WhatsApp will update its terms of service. The WhatsApp new terms and services will prompt you to either accept them otherwise you will lose access to your account. Reportedly this change will arrive next year (2021) and will come into effect starting February 8. 

As per the latest information shared by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp will update its Terms and Services in 2021. The users who do not agree to the new privacy rules will eventually lose all their data including access to the messaging service. WABetaInfo also shared a screenshot of a new development that is coming next year. The screenshot mentions that if the user turns down its newTerms and Privacy Policy Updates they have no option other than deleting their accounts so all the users must agree to the Policy updates.

The screenshot stated that the key updates will include more information about the messaging app’s services and how it processes the user’s data. Besides, it also shows how businesses can use Facebook hosted services to store and manage their WhatsApp chats.

“By tapping Agree, you accept the new terms which take effect on February 0, 2021. After this date, you’ll need to accept the new terms to continue using WhatsApp pr you can always delete your account. You can also learn more about how WhatsApp processes your data in our updated privacy policy,” the snapshot mentions.

Citing report WhatsApp won’t send the announcement in the form of a chat, but they will appear as a particular in-app banner that can redirect to external websites or they can require specific user action. Also, the Updated Terms of Service is expected to be announced in the coming weeks.

WhatsApp has also agreed to the upcoming development to a publisher confirming the new WhatsApp Terms and Conditions to come into effect from February 8, 2021. So those users willing to continue using the app must agree to this update.
