Tecno Spark 8 smartphone with 5,000mAh battery launched in India

The device comes with dual cameras and runs on Android 11 Go Edition.

Transsion holding smartphone brand – Tecno Mobile announced the launch of its latest budget smartphone in the Indian market today. The company has introduced Tecno Spark 8 as its latest Spark 8 offering under the 10K price segment. The phone comes with a dual rear camera set up. It includes a 5,000mAh battery and features an IPS LCD with a waterdrop notch. In addition to this, it is powered by MediaTek Helio P22 chipset and runs the Android 11 Go edition. 

Tecno Spark 8 price in India and availability

Tecno Spark 8 price in India has been set at Rs 7,999 for the single 2GB of RAM and 64GB onboard storage. It will be available in three colour options of  Atlantic Blue, Turquoise Cyan, and Iris Purple. It will be available for sale in retail stores from September 15 onwards across the country.

Tecno Spark 8 features a 6.52-inch HD+ waterdrop-style notch display with a 720 x 1600 pixels of resolution. It comes with a 120Hz touch response rate,  88.6% body ratio, 269 PPI screen pixel density and 480 nits brightness. The device runs on HiOS 7.6 based on Android 11(Go edition). Under the hood, there is MediaTek A25 SoC paired with 2GB of RAM and 64GB onboard storage. The internal storage can be expanded up to 256GB via a dedicated microSD card slot. The smartphone comes with a fingerprint scanner for biometric security which sits beside the camera module.

The Tecno Spark 8 houses a dual rear camera setup inside a square-shaped camera module. The set-up consists of a 16-megapixel main camera and a QVGA secondary lens alongside the LED flash. Moreover, it supports various Pro shooting modes like 1080P Time-lapse, Slow Motion, AR Shot, smile capture, AI Portrait and many more to help you click professional photos and videos. Upfront there is an 8-megapixel sensor for taking selfies and video calling with dual front flash, AI beauty and many other modes for perfect low light selfies. 

The newly launched smartphone features a 5,000 mAh battery which comes with a standby time of up to 47 days, 34 hours of calling, 19 hours of web browsing, 132 hours of music playback, and 21 hours of video playback. The handset further includes WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, 2.4G+5G, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, GNSS, Galileo, Beidou, 2G GSM EDGE, 3G WCDMA, 4G FDD_LTE, 4G TDD_LTE Support dual LTE as connectivity options. While the sensors onboard include an accelerometer, ambient light, distance and rear fingerprint sensor.
