Redmi is all set to announce a new product in the Indian market. The company will be expanding its smart TV portfolio in the country with the launch of the new Redmi Fire TV. According to the information received the television has been developed in partnership with Amazon. This means the e-commerce platform will be the place to buy the upcoming smart tv in the nation as soon as it launches. The device will be featuring a metallic bezel-less design and come with a smart home control hub. In addition to this, it will run on Fire OS 7.

The Redmi Fire TV is scheduled to release in India on March 14. The company will be hosting a launch event that will be live-streamed at 12 noon. The cost of the smart TV has not yet been disclosed. However, the company has created a dedicated microsite on Amazon to tease the availability and details of the Redmi Fire TV. As per the microsite, the device will run on Fire OS 7 which is the most recent Fire Stick OS by Amazon.
According to the company’s tweet, Redmi Fire TV will include in-built Fire TV Stick-type functionality. Using this feature users will be able to stream content on various OTT platforms like YouTube, Netflix, Disney+ Hotstar, Prime Video and more.
The landing page suggests that the Redmi Fire TV will have a metallic bezel-less design. It will come with sustainable packaging.
A remote will also be included with the Redmi TV, and it resembles the Fire TV stick’s remote in many ways. It has buttons designated specifically for the Netflix, Prime Video, and Amazon Music apps.
The Television will include connectivity options like AirPlay, Miracast, Dual Band WiFi, and Bluetooth 5.0.

Redmi’s parent company Xiaomi also introduced Xiaomi TV Stick 4K last month in India. As the name suggests the device supports 4K streaming. It comes pre-installed with Android TV 11 and Dolby Vision. In addition to this, there is built-in compatibility with Chromecast. Xiaomi TV Stick 4K is priced at Rs 4,999 and it can be purchased via the company’s official website in the nation.
