The recent OS update primarily focuses on security and privacy features. It brings features like Private Space, where users can hide specific apps in a safe place away from prying eyes, under an additional layer of authentication. Private space uses a separate user profile. When the user locks private, the profile is paused, which means the apps are not running or active. For private space, the user has the option of using a different lock factor or the device lock.

Private space apps show up in a separate container in the launcher and are hidden from the recent view, notifications, settings, and other apps when private space is locked.
With Android 15, Google is improving its anti-theft features to make it harder for thieves to use stolen devices without Google account information.

Additionally, biometrics are needed for the update to disable Find My Device, enable passkey access, and screen timeout.

Other features include “Offline Device Lock,” which locks devices when internet connectivity is disabled, and “Theft Detection Lock,” which locks your device when motions indicate theft. Lastly, Remote Lock allows for remote lock and wipe.
