To improve user experience and empower its community, Telegram has added more features. These commemorate Telegram’s over 10 million Premium membership milestone and include Star Giveaways for channels and groups, Instant View capability for the in-app browser, and upgrades to mini apps.
While announcing the new achievement and features Telegram said, “This month, Telegram surpassed 10 million Premium subscribers — a 2x increase in less than 8 months. This growth helps support our goal of sustainable monetization that prioritises users and their privacy.”
“We thank all of our Premium subscribers for their continued support — which allows Telegram to continue creating powerful features that change how nearly one billion people communicate,” it further added.
Telegram has made it possible for channel and group owners to give out Telegram Stars as prizes. This enables community leaders to interact with their followers and give them rewards. Spending Stars on games, mini-apps, paid media, and exclusive channel subscriptions is available to participants. Channel owners can access premium services like posting channel stories by earning boosts. For channels: Channel Settings > Statistics > Boosts; For groups: Group Info > Statistics > Boosts
Telegram has improved content consumption by integrating Instant View functionality into its in-app browser. Instant View was introduced in 2016 and optimises articles for fast, seamless browsing on all devices. This update offers a clear, readable experience by converting any content viewed in the Telegram browser into Instant View format. The open-source technology used by Mozilla makes this improvement possible.
