Vodafone announced the roll-out of National Mobile Number Portability (NMNP)

Vodafone India, is one of India’s leading telecommunications service providers and are really doing well in the Indian market. They have started rolling out nationwide mobile number portability from July 3, 2015.

So, if people are switching jobs, or cities, they will no longer have to change their mobile number, which is actually a good thing. The National Mobile Number Portability service enables customers to carry their existing mobile number from one telecom circle to another across India and choose the operator of their choice. NMNP is applicable to all pre-paid and post-paid customers.

Those who are looking for the convenience of retaining their existing number at the new location can avail the benefits of National Mobile Number Portability service.

Vivek Mathur, Chief Commercial Officer, Vodafone India said, “Customers will be the biggest gainers of the National MNP service as it allows them to carry their existing number across India and also choose the operator of their choice. Vodafone has benefited from the intra-circle MNP that was rolled out in 2011 and we look forward to a similar response this time.”

Steps for Port-In

  1. Visit any Vodafone Store/outlet
  2. Generate an 8 digit UPC code by sending a SMS ‘Port <your mobile no>’ to 1900
  3. Fill up the CAF and porting-in form and submit relevant documents
  4. Choose your tariff plan

For sure, this piece of news must have brought happiness to many Vodafone customers and they will definitely be making the best use of this opportunity (if they are switching cities).
