Are you a WhatsApp beta user experiencing green screen issues? Here’s the fix

Unsubscribing from the beta program and reinstalling the stable version will resolve the problem for users.

Users of the WhatsApp beta have reported an issue that causes the app to unexpectedly close, turning green and rendering it useless. There have been complaints and reports of the screen becoming completely green, leaving the cause unclear.

The entire screen becoming green is probably a bug affecting WhatsApp users on beta version 2.24.24.5. The messaging app must work and detect the root of the problem in order to be considered functional. According to Android Authority “This issue isn’t simply tinting the screen green; rather, the entire screen is just a solid block of green, making the app usable. It appears the issue is triggered when clicking on any chat.”

According to Android Police, a writer experienced a similar issue with the app forcibly quitting on launch, despite several attempts to recreate the fault.

The WhatsApp green screen issue is limited to beta version 2.24.24.5, and the most recent stable build should work with your app. The best course of action is to go back to an earlier version, however, this might be difficult because WhatsApp betas are distributed as app bundles rather than regular APKs.

Hemanthreddy_03, a Reddit user, has offered a short-term fix for testers who encounter annoying problems with app beta versions. This entails deleting your chat history, uninstalling the most recent stable version, and unsubscribing from the beta program.

A flaw that many online users have noticed has been confirmed by WhatsApp, and it is presently being reported on its X account for app updates. Some users are still unable to access their chats, even though a representative from the company indicated that the problem has been fixed.

If you use WhatsApp every day, you should remain with the stable version. Until Meta fixes the green screen problem, workarounds should help keep everything functioning properly.

To address the WhatsApp green screen issue on Android handsets, go to the WhatsApp beta website on Google Play, unsubscribe from the beta program, backup chats, uninstall WhatsApp, click the Google Play banner on the official page, log in, and then restore chats.
