Tinder’s Dating Safety Guide now available in four Indian languages

The dating guide was first released in English in September 2023.

In partnership with the Centre for Social Research, Tinder has published its Dating Safety Guide in four Indian languages. The guide was developed in advance of Safer Internet Day and based on input from an Indian survey. The dating app’s guide, which was first made available in September 2023 and has received over a million views, aims to increase awareness of online dating safety in India.

The Dating Safety Guide on Tinder, which was first released in English in September 2023 and has received over a million views and 50,000 downloads, will now be available in four additional Indian languages: Bengali, Hindi, Kannada, and Marathi.

The guide, which will be accessible on the app on February 11, intends to help users detect when a romance scam and provide recommendations on how to handle them, as part of its continuous efforts to support safety initiatives across all of its parent companies’ brands.

Under the title, “How to Identify a Romance Scam: Warning Signs,” Tinder users will get access to a comprehensive guide that includes all the information required to identify unhealthy behaviours and important prevention tips.

Overall, the guide offers helpful information to help protect against romance scams. It recommends recognising red flags, protecting privacy, and confirming the identity of the person behind a profile; using security tools to block suspicious individuals; using Video Chat for video calls; and not sending money to strangers.

Besides this Tinder also offers a variety of safety features like Report Chat, Block Contacts, Video Verification, Video Chat, “ Does this message make you uncomfortable?” and “Are you sure?”
