What is Connections?

Like Wordle, Connections is one of the popular daily NYT word games. The aim of the game is very straightforward – find words that share a common theme from a 4×4 grid. There are a total of 4 groups to guess. The Yellow category is the easiest to crack. The difficulty rises with the Green and Blue categories and peaks with the Purple category words. You can play the game on the NYT Games app or its official website.

First, let’s take a look at today’s grid

Answers to NYT Connections (#1,065) Today (May 11, 2026)

Can’t come up with any guesses? Here are all the answers.

Yellow Group: Creep, Slip, Sneak, Steal. (Move Stealthily, With ‘In’.)

This was a fairly simple category, but we can understand if ‘Steal’ and ‘Sneak’ threw you off.

Green Group: Color, Ponzi, Pyramid, Rhyme. (Kinds of Schemes.)

Pyramid and Ponzi are easy to club together. But it may take you a while to figure out the different usage of ‘scheme’ for the remaining two words. This was quietly the toughest category in today’s puzzle.

Blue Group: Chinatown, Knives Out, Seven, Vertigo. (Detective Movies.)

The easiest category in today’s puzzle for us, this one was a lock as soon as we saw the grid. Even casual movie watchers should be able to spot the names of these famous titles.

Purple Group: Elegy, Karma, Keyed, Shandy (Body Parts Surrounded By Two Letters.)

Seasoned Connectios veterans must have spotted the theme here without taking too much time. A ‘word inside a word’ trick is a Purple category classic. ‘Slip’ may have thrown some off, but it doesn’t belong here since ‘lip’ isn’t surrounded by two letters.
