How to install Android 15 Beta on OnePlus 12 and OnePlus Open?

Google announced the second Android 15 Beta version at its I/O event, earlier this week. Google Pixel users can install it by enrolling in the Android Beta for Pixel program. OnePlus has also announced the Android 15 Beta 1 version for its flagship devices. Interested users can manually install the update on their OnePlus smartphones. Minimum requirements for installing the Android 15 Beta on your OnePlus smartphone

  • Your device’s battery level should be above 30% and it should have at least 4GB of available storage space.
  • OnePlus 12 should be running Android version 14.0.0.610 or below.
  • OnePlus Open should be running Android version 14.0.0.702 or below.
  • Carrier versions of the two devices are not eligible for the Beta version.

Before you begin, create a backup of your personal data on the phone as the upgrade will wipe all its contents.

Step 1: Download the ROM upgrade ZIP package from the OnePlus Community website.

Step 2: Copy the package to your phone’s storage.

Step 3: Turn on Developer Mode on your OnePlus smartphone by going to Settings>About Device>Version and tapping the Build Number 7 times.

Step 4: Now, go back to Settings>About device>Up to date and tap the ellipses at the top right corner of the screen.

Step 5: Tap on Local install and select the installation package you downloaded earlier.

Step 6: Hit Extract and then select Upgrade.

Step 7: Once the upgrade is complete, restart your device.

OnePlus users in North America can upgrade their smartphones to Android 15 Beta 1 by sideloading an APK provided on the OnePlus Community website. This APK will help you install the ROM package on your device. OnePlus also offers the rollback package on its Community website if you want to uninstall the Android Beta version on your phone and go back to using Android 14.
