Here’s what you need

  • A blank or reusable NFC tag. You can get a pack of 10 rewritable tags for as low as Rs 360 on Amazon.
  • An NFC-enabled NFC smartphone. All Android smartphones do not come with NFC support. Check your device’s specs to see if it is NFC compatible. If you’re using iPhone 7 or higher, it will have NFC support.
  • An app to program the NFC tag. Preferably Trigger or NFC Tools.

Program an NFC tag using iPhone

Step 1: Download and install the NFC Tools (or any other NFC tag-writing app) on your iPhone.

Step 2: Launch the NFC Tools app. Turn on NFC on your phone from the Control Centre.

Step 3: Tap on ‘Write’ and select ‘Add a record’.
