The e-commerce website Amazon last year announced the launch of Amazon Flex service in India. The programme’s aim is to allow users to sign up to deliver Amazon packages part-time and earn some money during the course of time. According to the company, the users signing up for the programme can deliver a package as per their own plan or timings and return can earn up to Rs 140 per hour. At the time of the launch, the Amazon Flex delivery programme was limited to three cities only. But now it has expanded this service to 35 more cities.
In June last year, Amazon announced its Flex delivery programme for its Indian users. The company’s idea is to allow people to earn some cash for delivering packages on their own schedule. Earlier this Flex delivery programme was launched for three cities in India Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Delhi with further plans to expand to additional cities in that year. But almost after one year, the company has now included more than 35 cities in its initiative which includes metro as well as non-metro cities including Hyderabad, Jaipur, Chennai, Pune, Patna, Lucknow, Ahmedabad, Coimbatore, Kanpur, Ghaziabad, Kolkata, Chandigarh, Visakhapatnam, Gurgaon and more. In this programme, the users can sign in to this service and can earn from Rs 120 to Rs 140 for an hour. But here is a condition the participants should have a two-wheeler to deliver packages.

- To get started an Android smartphone and should have a three- or four-wheeler
According to the company, all the participants in the country will be covered under a Group Accident policy while making deliveries for Amazon. For this, they have to go through a comprehensive background verification process and hands-on training before they begin delivering packages. As the latest expansion has come up at the time when the customers are staying indoors due to the coronavirus outbreak and right now preferring to order items via online platforms only. According to the company, the thermal screening of each and every flex partner is being conducted as a part of the safety measures and maintaining hands washing as well as sanitization. The company has also begun a digitised training for its Flex partners.
