Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has announced a statewide rollout of Voice over WiFi (VoWiFi) services, making them accessible to all consumers nationwide. This service offers dependable access in places with poor mobile signals, such as homes, workplaces, and rural and distant areas, by enabling customers to send and receive calls and messages over Wi-Fi.

BSNL has officially announced that Voice over WiFi (VoWiFi), often known as Wi-Fi Calling, will be available all throughout India. The telecom operator took to X.com to make the announcement.

This program lets all BSNL users in every telecom circle in India use the service, making it easier to communicate clearly and without problems even in challenging conditions. The Ministry of Communications says that VoWiFi lets people make and receive voice calls and messages over a Wi-Fi network.

All BSNL users in India can now utilise the new VoWiFi service, which provides smooth, high-quality connectivity even in challenging conditions. VoWiFi works on an IMS-based architecture that makes it easy to switch between Wi-Fi and mobile networks. It does this by using the customer’s current mobile number and phone dialler without using any third-party apps.

As indicated before, BSNL’s implementation of Voice over Wi-Fi (VoWiFi) greatly improves connectivity, especially in rural and remote areas where cellular service is poor. This is particularly relevant when there is a solid Wi-Fi connection like BSNL Bharat Fiber. VoWiFi helps with network congestion and is free for customers, so they may make Wi-Fi calls without paying extra. The initiative is an important part of BSNL’s efforts to modernise its network and improve connectivity in areas that don’t have it.

Most new smartphones can use VoWiFi, and users may turn on Wi-Fi Calling in their phone’s settings. Customers who have questions about compatibility should go to the nearest BSNL customer service centre or call the BSNL hotline at 18001503.
