The much-awaited Canon EOS R3 full-frame mirrorless camera has been officially announced by the company. This is the company’s latest mirrorless camera to arrive in India which comes with professional-grade features. It is ideal for professional photographers who are looking for a more compact and lighter yet latest mirrorless camera. It is great for high-speed photography targeting those who are more into the sport, wildlife and news photography. The device also features the latest 24.1-megapixel back-illuminated stacked CMOS sensor along with new Eye Control AF and is capable of recording 6K 60p RAW or 4K 120p 10-bit video. Canon EOS R3 price in India and availability details
Canon EOS R3 full-frame mirrorless camera has been launched in India with a price tag of Rs 4,99,995. The pricing is for the body only and the company is yet to announce an exact timeline when the professional camera will be available in the country. But the Canon camera is expected to be available by November end of this year.

Canon EOS R3 full-frame mirrorless camera is highlighted with a 24.1-megapixel back-illuminated stacked CMOS sensor. It is powered by a DIGIC X image processor. The device can be used for speed photography. The camera also equips a 3.2-inch Vari-angle LCD touch screen that offers a resolution of approximately 4.15-million-dots. It comes with a refresh rate of up to 120 fps and features a smart controller which allows the user to quickly move the AF position around and double up as an AF-ON button.
According to the company, the electronic shutter and mechanical shutter of the EOS R3 can reach up to 30 fps and 12 fps respectively with AF/AE tracking. It can also achieve a shutter speed of up to 1/64,000 sec with the electronic shutter, allowing capturing of ultra-fast subjects or using large-aperture lenses under bright environments. The mirrorless camera comes integrated with dual card slots for a CFexpress (Type-B) card that boasts ultra-fast read/write speeds and an SD (UHS-II) card, allowing for fast and reliable recording of image data. EOS R3 has a native ISO range of 100 to 102,400 that can be expanded up to 204,800 when used for still photography. While recording videos the range goes from 100 to 25,600 and can be expanded to 102,400.
The camera also offers a 10-bit HEIF file format and offers HDR-PQ-like JPEG images with improved highlight gradations that can be converted from HEIF files in-camera. The HDR mode allows for a single high dynamic range HEIF file from 3 HEIF composites automatically in as quickly as 0.02 seconds which makes for handheld HDR shooting. There is in-Body Image Stabilisation (In-Body IS) of up to 5.5 stops as well for stable images.
The Canon EOS R3 full-frame mirrorless camera is capable of recording 6K 60p RAW or 4K 120p 10-bit movie at the full-frame angle of field. High quality 4K 60p (oversampling from 6K). This mirrorless camera also includes Canon Log 3 and HDR PQ to provide flexibility to match various post-production workflows. It also features the Eye Control AF function, which allows users to select a focus point by purely using the movement of the eye. This feature comes with the capability to focus on the eye even if the face is partially covered or masked. Head Detection AF has also improved further; even when athletes are wearing helmets or goggles, stable focusing can still be achieved in high-speed sports photography.
There is a newly added Vehicle Priority AF feature for motorsport photographers. The AF can now detect automobiles and motorcycles with great precision. It can even detect the helmets of drivers when Spot Detection is enabled. It can also focus in an extremely dark situation which is almost pitch black to the human eyes.
In terms of connectivity, EOS R3 includes Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and GPS as standard modes, a dual-band Wi-Fi that supports FTP and FTPS along with WPA3 for added security. For press photographers, wired LAN connectivity offers blazing-fast transfer of files to remote FTP, FTPS or SFTP servers. All these are achieved without the need for any additional accessories.
