Canon EOS R50 V with RF-S 14-30mm F4-6.3 IS STM PZ debuts in India

The new camera comes with interchangeable lenses.

Canon has unveiled the EOS R50 V with RF-S 14-30mm F4-6.3 IS STM PZ, a video-centric interchangeable lens camera and lens aimed at next-generation content creators. These lenses allow for easy switching between shooting styles while also providing ideal video and stills output, making video production more efficient and user-friendly.

The EOS R50 V is a compact video camera intended for long-term use. It lacks a viewfinder and is supported by grips and gimbals, which reduce fatigue. It has a tripod socket, an auto-rotating information display, and a grip design to make vertical shooting easier. The camera has a video-centric button layout, a movie-focused mode dial, and separate buttons for live streaming and colour modes. It has Canon’s RF mount and a 24.2-megapixel APS-C sensor, which is equivalent to the Super 35mm sensor found in cinema cameras.

The Dual Pixel CMOS AF II system, Register People Priority mode, and Movie Digital IS simplify the complexities of footage creation, allowing creators to concentrate on expressing their creativity.

According to the company, it supports Cinema EOS recording formats, Custom Pictures imaging, and LUTs. The camera also includes 3-mic noise reduction technology and an LPCM 24-bit 4-channel audio input, making it ideal for projects with several audio sources.

Additionally, the EOS R50 V now includes a livestreaming button, which allows creators to stream instantly. Users can connect wirelessly using Camera Connect or the Live Switcher Mobile app, HDMI using a switcher, or a USB-C cable. Live Switcher Mobile Multi-Camera software supports multi-angle livestreaming.
