Canon introduces full production version of EOS Webcam Utility Software

In order to help people stay connected with high-image-quality video communication with families, having a sales call, getting an education or simply to keep each other updated, Canon has introduced the full production version of the EOS Webcam Utility software for Windows. A total of 42 EOS interchangeable lens cameras and PowerShot cameras are now compatible with the full production software, including the new EOS R5 and EOS R6.

With your Canon camera, you could provide better broadcast experience for your audiences and fans with the smooth motion and crisp details. If you are wondering about the compatibility, well Canon has revealed that the EOS Webcam Utility is currently compatible with the following applications:

  1. Zoom
  2. Facebook Live
  3. Discord
  4. Skype
  5. Facebook Messenger
  6. Streamlabs
  7. Cisco Webex
  8. YouTube Live
  9. Open Broadcaster Software (OBS)
  10. Google Meet
  11. Microsoft Teams
  12. Slack
  13. Google Hangouts

Canon has also shared the guide to use EOS Webcam Utility Software. Following are the steps for that:

  • Install EOS Webcam Utility in your device
  • Select either Windows or macOS version while downloading
  • Install it onto your computer
  • Once completed, restart your computer
  • It would enable the use of compatible Canon cameras on your computer

However, Canon has revealed that the macOS version is still under development and would be released soon.

Now to prepare your camera, turn it on and locate the Mode Dial / Mode Switch / Mode Button Interface on your camera. Then, set the camera to video mode (Movie Mode) and to your desired exposure. Mind you! The optimal settings are Full HD and frame rate of 30p (29.97p) or 24p (23.98p).

In order to connect your camera, Canon reveals that first locate the USB port on your camera. Insert compatible USB cable into the camera’s USB port. And also, insert the other end of the USB cable into your computer’s USB port.

According to Canon: If you have to select your camera, go to your desired conferencing or streaming application. Now, look for Audio / Video settings within the application. And select EOS Webcam Utility under the camera. Make sure that Audio input is from your computer or external microphone.

Once setup is completed, you’re ready to use your compatible Canon camera to connect with your friends or fans with high-quality video.
